Hi,
The rear window on the drivers side of the 97 Grand Marquis will not work. Went down and got it to go part way back up but nothing. I am thinking the motor went bad. Anybody ever change one of these? How hard of a job is it? Also, does anyone one have the part number for the motor and are they the same for either side of the rear window?
Thanks,
Joe

Does the interior lights dim when you try to operate the window? If so your getts power to the motor and it maybe just stuck. Try holding the switch in the up position while you bang on the door panel with a rubber mallet. This will sometimes unstick the motor.
Power window motors are on eBay all the time or you could contact Ray the Dealer (search for him on this site).

I thought you meant MGM like the film company or the casino...
I have similar problems on my MM I have to push wicked hard on the thing to get it to work

Sounds like the switch is bad.

Hi,
No, don't think it is the switch because it does not work from either of the switches and no the lights do not dim when I hit the switch. Anything special I need to know about changing the motor?
Thanks,
Joe

Looking at the manual it looks pretty straight forward. You can replace the rivets you have to remove with nuts & bolts.
If your going to do your own work I'd suggest getting a shop manual.

It is easy. I've done this many times before.
