Got it on today, it came out really good. A couple of fish-eyes but for the price I can't complain.

The area between the scoop and hood is dirty from buffing debris. I'll probably put a mesh screen in this opening later:

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/5/1/8/tn_CIMG0926.JPG

The underside of the scoop is pretty rough, due to it being unfinished fiberglass:

The light and modified underhood insulator covered with plain material from Car Motorsports:

Another view with hood closed:

And here is the embroidered emblem from Car Motorsports (I had one of their insulators but it got damaged so I cut the emblem out of it) stuck on the scoop area with velcro:

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/5/1/8/tn_CIMG0933.JPG

I'm going to put a different type of insulator on the back side of the scoop, then put the emblem on it instead of directly attached to the scoop.

Oh, and it got its first rock chips on the way home so I don't have to worry about that any more!

Brian is this hood required for this supercharger?

Brian is this hood required for this supercharger?

Yes. This or some other type of opening is required. Not sure if the fiberglass hood like Tom (MarauderTJA) has is wide enough in the raised cowl area because of the location of the IAC valve.

Is this the same scoop gdmJoe has?

No. This scoop used to be a complete Mustang hood with '95 Cobra R style scoop. I cut it apart to get the scoop section, then trimmed it to fit the contour of the Marauder hood.

If the Class Glass Hood tapered toward the windshield, rather than toward the front bumper, it would be a sure winner.
It looks like crap as-is.

Lookin' good Brian. http://www.geocities.com/gdmjoe/thumb.gif

FordNut ... Joe's scoop is pretty much the same width front to rear similar to Tom's hood.
Actually the width at the front is 21" and 31" at the rear and has a 3" height.

Blacker then black, I'm surprised you didn't go for a badgeless grill. The devil himself would be proud to drive that... I also like gdmjoe's car.

Thanks,

Sorry: my mistake. Looks good.

How much did you cut out from the frame & hood under the scoop?

FordNut ... How much did you cut out from the frame & hood under the scoop?
Since mine wasn't for clearance and more for cooling, I opted to minimize the cut-out and limited it to ...

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2206000-2206999/2206612_96_full.jpg

Given the breadth of the hood surface I was concerned (perchance overly) about the structural integrity / rigidity and therefore was conservative.

I'd agree with that, I'll probably be taking the hood off for the winter and see if my body shop guy would do that.

I've been thinking about rounding out the cowl so it will look bigger than it really is and be more Cobra R style.
