The dogs were coaxed to run with anything from squeaky toys, large green beach balls, cheese out of a can, bananas, pupperonis and even yodeling:help:

I have really mixed feelings about this because of the potential for back injury especially in jumping . Unfortunately the Dachshunds long backs make them vulnerable to disc problems that can cause paralysis which can cost a dog it's life. We lost our 5 year old, Jamie, (red long haired female) a few years ago to a back injury. ( Still crying) But Dachshunds are great little dogs with great BIG hearts. The pictures show that determination. Big dog personalities in little bodies. They're irresistible. They just have to be protected from activities that might cause harm like jumping on/off furniture and being roughly handled.( The miniatures are not suitable pets for young children) We have 2 mini long hairs ( sisters) Belle and Violet aka The Girls.:)

You got that right. Absolutley fearless little buggers. I've had two of mine try to take on a Chow and a Rottie...with limited success (fearless, yes; smart, not always:rolleyes:).

People only go to races to watch the crash-n-burns. I don't like burnt wieners.

I move to amend the MM.net bylaws to include a clause stating that our Wiener Dogs will be free from racing......except as passengers. (and then appropriate safety measures are mandated as set forth in sec. 8 pg. 6) All in favor.......?:cool4:
