I have my car running after the Kooks, 180 T-stat and Evenflow install. I got to work, after a 20 minute drive at 75 MPH and checked for leaks. The filler plug on the crossover tube is leaking just a bit. The O ring was in 'not-so-good' shape when I cleaned everything. I am sure that needs replacing.

Does anyone know if I need a special o-ring or if there is a "typical" size that works?

There is a Ford Dealer just down the street. If we have a part number, I could get it on lunch.

Thanks to all the narratives on filling the coolant system, and reading my manual, I did not have to "burp" the system at all. Worked out the first time.

Thanks to all...

The dealer should not have a problem looking it up by aplication.

I just replaced mine too. When we looked it up at the Dealer... it showed NO part number for the o-ring only. Strange, I even looked at the picture..... gotta be wrong, don't want to buy plug and all.

I went to the hardware store with the plug and old ring, and bought two.

New o-Ring or Old, ALWAYS put a big bead of RTV Silicone around it.
Take out the guesswork!

Went to a Ford Dealer on lunch and they couldn't even find the correct crossover tube. I guess I am off to Home Depot for a new o-ringk, I may have some in my tool box.. I will apply some RTV Black for safe keeping.

Where I work, we have a few containers full of miscellaneous sized Orings. I was able to help Blackmobile out with some for his MM. See if your local Ford dealer would have something like that.

i believe a basic black 17 mm o ring from the plumbing dept works

Yeah, that's why the factory does it. Or do they...

Went to Advance Auto and found a pack of assorted o rings forp $2.98 had one that was a little too small, which streched over the fitting and slid right into the groove.

Bit of RTV Black, a little Anti-sieze on the threads, no more worries....
