emissions notice both Mercs

I got a form from the EPA to test both Mercs., the 2002 LSE & the 2004 Marauder.
This is the first time either one has been tested.
I don't have any reason to think they will have trouble passing.
Anyone have thier Marauder emissions tested?

According to the Illinois emission test protocol, cars with OBDII systems will just get the scan of the computer to see if there are any MIL codes present. No exhaust gas tests.

Should not be a problem for either car.

I had mine tested in the state of MD. All they do here is a gas cap test and plug a machine to your cars computer... If its not an obvious problem you pass easily here... :twocents:

Here they look for visible smoke coming out the pipes as well as insert a sensor in the pipes and plug into the OBD II. Even with all my mods and only two cats , i passed with flying colors. well waybe not flying colors.

I had a couple of cars tested in IL. With OBDII they look under the car for the cats and at the exhaust system,test the fuel cap and plug into the OBDII port for codes,that's about it.

No CEL's should be no problem, that's all VA does on 96 and newer. Some shops do visual inspections (they're supposed to atleast) to check installed emissions equip.

I took my crown vic & my marauder for tests in the last 6 months & all they did was plug into the dash port. They didn't look at or check anything else on either car.

They just read for codes.

Ohio: Four years on a new car, and every other year there after.

We use the OBD-2 PORT and under car mirriors.
There is a dyno and muffler wand for older cars.

If Lidio did your tune, nothing will ever be seen in the EEC to concern the check station.;)

All of OH does NOT check. It is County by County. MY County does not :D

In Northern Virginia, we have to get emissions tested every two years. I was tested in 2005 and again in 2007. No problems stock or with a tune. They just pull the information from the computer. No sensor tubes up the tailpipe anymore. :P

Not all areas of Virginia get tested ... just the big congested areas around DC, Richmond and Norfolk/Virginia Beach area.

They pluged in the code reader where the tuner plug goes.
ran the car for a minute reved it a bit and that was it.
