After installing a HID kit (HIDs Hi & Lo) 4 ballast system I turned my attention to the fog lights. Although I installed SilverStars they still looked yellow compared to the HID headlights and LED parking lamps so I found these 3W sealed LEDS.

After removing the fog lights I modified them like this

Installed the LED

The back sealed with black silicone

Eventhough they are only 3W you can't look at them directly.

As soon as I take them I'll post some pics with all the lights lit up.

Be interesting to see how the LED axis works with the reflector housing....

I'd be interested in your source if you believe they cast more light than silverstars. i actually need more light, not just going for color!

Nice, can't wait to see some night shots. I used to have silverstar fogs until I learned their good for oh about 100 hours, fudge that. I need some more lighting without having to aim my 6000k HIDs up.

I actually JUST ordered my H1 foglight HID upgrade kit in 8000K to match my headlights. I got it for $137.00 shipped on ebay. I will post pics and give a driver impression as soon as they're in.

I have my foglights on auto - 24x7 and they've been in the car for at least 2 years - Silverstars! BTW, Headlights, too!

why dont you consider doing a 3000k hid kit for the fogs? bright yellow with 6000-8000k hid headlight conversion is an awesome mix!!!

That's what I was thinking about doing because I drive threw areas that have dense fog whenever the conditions are right for it.

You feel you need more lighting with the 6000k HIDs. What mfg are your HIDs ?

i have couple of friends that have that combination, and it looks a lot better with some contrast rather than having 4 bright azz lights shining at you. it also gives it a better effect if you are driving with just parking lights on, really makes the car pop

Kenny, you know I want those to go with the GREAT Hi-Lo 4 ballast HID headlights you installed for me. Let me know, my friend when you want to do the install. Dennis...

Okay, my HID kit is here and I will install it this weekend with before and after pics. The kit comes with two H1 HID bulbs, small ballasts, igniters and the worst translated install guide I have ever seen. As a professional I will give my unbiased take on the product and performance and try to be as honest as I was with my headlight conversion. Dennis - these might be the perfect complement to the headlights we both have. As you realize too - I am STILL amazed every time I drive at night.

They look great, but those fogs just don't throw enough light for me. Also looks like they lost the parallel to the ground light shaping....

Looking really good, though!!!

It may look a little distorted. Car was at the crest on a slopped driveway.

Fastblack, I don't want to hijack this thread, but I would like to know more about your use of LEDs for your other lights. Is there another thread you can point me to?

Well...do you like the way they turned out? Did you use load resistors? Where did you get the bulbs from?

We can discuss in Wilmington, if that's OK with you.
