I bought a 10 in. extension that worked fine. The thermostat is located in the hose line I believe.

The thermostat is located inside the housing in a T-connector for 3 radiator hoses that come together; and it comes apart from the bottom, make sure you refill your system from the round cap that screws on to metal tubing by using a 1/4" drive ratchet; that is the highest point in your cooling system VERY IMPORTANT so you don't get an air pocket in your block. You will enjoy the results !!!:D ::D :D

thermostat: ^^^what Smokie said^^^
the coolant re-fill procedure is in the owner's manual, starting on page 191...

spark plugs: ^^^what Menace said^^^
if you tape the spark-plug socket to the extension, things will come out easier...remember to put some silicone dielectric grease on the insulator, it will make subsequent coil removals much easier...concerning anti-seize on the threads: some people recommend it; Dennis does not, and the factory doesn't use it...one more thing: it's VERY IMPORTANT to use a torque wrench to install the new plugs...the proper spec is 11 ft-lbs...
