Yeah you herd right, after 3 whole months to the day, the beast is back up and running again. It goes to show you, "You can't keep a good Marauder down". I'm still toying with the exhaust to close off some leaks but for the most part the engine purrs like a kitten, with really loud injectors on it's head. I'm still evaluating everything after the install, (meaning, I'm checking to see if I messed up anywhere during the install) since I did this in the parking lot of my complex over a time period of approximately 2 weeks. I had to work on it at sunrise 2 hours on weekends, and at sunset 5 - 7 Pm during the week. yeah, I had to endure some grief from security since it's against the rules to work on your car on the property, but I had to do what I had to do. I'd like to toot my own horn about installing the engine myself, with some help from Greggash, but one phrase comes to mind, "I'm getting to old for this crap" , but hey, I have to save a penny here and there with this economy the way it is.

I want to thank each and every one of you who contributed to this project. It is VERY appreciated, and I've come to realize i couldn't have come close to doing this without the help of my friends here who I now consider family members. Even the CrownVic.net guys, Tim and Frank. Thanks :bows:

Special thanks go out to :toast::

Al Papitto - Boss 330 Racing
Rich - Magindat
Gregg - Greggash
John Nero - AKA Speed Racer
Rob - Ghost 03
Zolton - Cobra25
Tom - MarauderTJA
Even Zack & Killjoy, for keeping me on track
AND Brian - RoyLPITA

And the entire Mercury Marauder .net continuum, I couldn't have been assimilated by a better bunch of people.

To everyone:

Live long and Prosper

Now I have to crawl back under the car, because that's where I can :bigcry: and nobody can see me.

Ed, Scott Beer will be re-tuning my car on the east coast on October 17th. If you want maybe I can get him to tune your car if you are interested. Let me know. I am hoping to beat my personal best at Moroso that weekend. If all goes right I will ;).

Thanks Brian, your photos of your engine while it was out was a great help with the install. Having it out for almost 3 months was the cause of me forgetting a few things, but your pix helped.

Ah come on Ed, the Zolton/John race factor is fun. I personally want to see line up against each other. My money is on ________. Then you can race the winner.

NO problem, but they look like a typical Marauder engine since Al P. used my block and heads. All the good stuff is inside, even my DNA, handling sharp edged aluminum tends to draw blood.

Here is the evenflow cooling mod welded into the crossover tube. I believe this mod will save the engines life.

Another footnote: It's been said before but I have to say it again, all this can be done without removing the hood.
We did for removal, but I left it on for the install.

What I find is interesting is that you had a AA series motor. According to my FileMaker Pro database it's the series that has the most problems.

That is odd, since I didn't have any engine issues until I put the blower on at over 100k miles. Maybe the saying is true, "You need to drive it like you stole it" and I do :D, but I do take care of in via the oil change intervals.

Ed, this is the best news I have heard in a long time and the best example that Marauderers care for their own I can recall. Your story is a tribute to you and to the collective. We are all proud of what you have accomplished and pleased to have been a part of the rebirth. Ride with pride. Dennis
