Was this a legitamate kill. here I was going around the loop of town and an E55 AMG (black) comes up beside me and wants to go. So I just could not say no, and with a nod we are off (we were going appx 55mph). It was almost dead even then I started to pull him, when I finally got a car length ahead of him he shut down. I have personally seen an AMG 55 beat-up on an 03-o4 Cobra on a drag strip and beat him 3 out of 3 times. Those All wheel drive AMG's are wicked out of the hole. So anyway I am Trilogized with the 3.2 pulley and everything else basically stock. So what is the concensus was this a kill or was he playing with me???????????:o:beer::eek:

I agree. Like you yourself said, he takes a Cobra off the line. In a roll-on, I suspect both you and a Cobra would walk on him.

My buddy has an 04 E55 AMG all stock and rear wheel drive. He took it to the local drag strip (first time also ever racing it) with traction control on and ran a 13.0x. He also braked before the end of the 1/4 mile. Car and Driver and Motor Trend had the car run 12.4x-12.6x on there test reports. I would say you killed him. And I believe the car is also a 6 speed auto.

Our local PD uses an unmarked charger driven by plain clothes to instigate a race at stop lights. the light goes green.. you blast off ..."then the lights turn blue." ticket time for you. Could be he opted out of anything in excess of 55. wisdom? safe driver?

Wouldn't that be entrapment? I mean because if the officer wasn't trying to bait you into a race you wouldn't have actually raced. Though I don't really know the officers demeanor when they pull next to you at a light. If they just sit there and look forward until you blast off or just respond to your challenge that wouldn't be, but if he's revving at you or trying to incite you to race, I think that's a little bit of a no-no.

With having the trilogy myself i would have to think with some grip you would stand a better chance from take off. Nice kill.
