You decide.
Went out to dinner tonight and I let my 16 year old son drive us home.

In the MM. It is only about 4 miles but boy did he like it. It is a little nicer than his Blazer. I think he wants one now. I can't let that happen because I have the only MM in town.
I love my car!:D

I think it was a good move if your son is responsible.

The best thing my dad did was give as much responsibility as he thought I could handle. If I $%^& up I had a lot to loose!

I let the 17 yr old son of a friend of ours drive me to pick up a pizza in my MM. I had emptied a couple of longnecks so I let him drive. He took it very easy. The car probably thought my grandmother was at the wheel. Maybe I was brave, crazy and drunk......not really. I wanted him to drive true American muscle. He drives a ricer and so do his folks.

My son is 16. He got his learners permit and i let him drive my MM home. he was nervous and so was i. He did well. as you can see on my signature his work in progress is our Ford Focus. That being said he also has a true passion/appreciation for good old american V-8's. i've let him drive the MM a couple times and he does better every time. Botom line is teaching him good driving habits and sharing a passion for automobiles. Turning wrenches and personalizing, cleaning, waxing, detailing and yes having a cold one. As long as it is together, time with my son is precious and I enjoy every minute of it. Before long he will be out on his own and i hope the time we spend together makes a lasting impression. The fact that I own this wonderful car and it brings us closer together just speaks volumes of what this car and site is all about.

I'm 17 and my dad lets me loose in the Marauder. Don't worry, I'm more sane than anyone my age should be.:banana2:

Well I don't know? I bought my first new Marauder at age 19.

I don't think you are crazy. He was probably more nervous about it than you.
I'd think he appreciated the trust you gave him.

I gave my 18 year old son my '97 Cougar. Him and my 25 year old son have driven the Marauder. They both got a kick out of it. And I got a kick out of them enjoying it!

Well, I guess we're all crazy in one form or another. My 16 year old grandson has driven mine several times.

MartyO mentioned this to me a while back...Seems that us MM owners get a kick out of letting others drive our cars...I know I do.

Rob, just remember, no matter how many MM's are in your family, you are still the "ALFA MALE"...age and wisdom rules...

My son, who has a learners permit probably drives my Marauder more than I do. My opinion is that people will only live up to your expectations of them. I'll trust him till he screws up. ; )

Well... my daugther is 10. The big problem here - she can't reach the MM pedals. So... I think with new, lowered seat for my motorcycle she has no choice but ride it first.

You, sir, deserve a pat on the back. Along with the "convert to real muscle" lesson you shared with that young man, you clearly demonstrated that one beer is enough to keep one out from behind the wheel. Bravo!

I'm no preacher on this, I like my soda pop as much as the next guy. But, there are some out there who believe that can have a beer or two, and still drive saftly. As the soda pops increase, so does the courage to believe "I can handle it."

You taught more by example that you give yourself credit for, and you have my respect. Thank you, maybe somone won't have to scrape that kid off the street someday, or, worse, he won't have to live with the remorse of his stupidity. Nice job!
