Charlie's mileage post reminded me that it's time for some under the hood maintenance for my ride (82,000 miles/ daily driver). Besides plugs, wires, air/oil filters, oil, timing belt...... anything else you guys recommend at this point? ( Besides sweet talkin' Mr. Man );)

well ms.denmark, your list seems pretty good except there are no plug wires, nor is there a timing belt. there is a timing chain, but i dont know when it should be replaced. you should also probably change the trans fluid and filter, and the fuel filter.

I don't think the chains are supposed to be replaced untill 200k.

I wonder what the timing chain replacement cost is. Only 96k more miles till I find out I guess lol.

Currently at 104k miles.

I agree w/Dave...if you haven't done the transmission fluid yet, do a full fluid exchange this time, then remember to do a pan-drop at least every 30,000. Fuel filter should be changed every 30,000 miles as well. Might wanna consider doing the differential fluid, too. Ford now recommends synthetic 75W-140.
