Shorty headers + stock exhaust: any change in sound?

What kind of change in sound will I notice if I get the shorty headers (plus adapter) put on my stock exhaust system.

I'd like my car to be a little louder/meaner, but not too much.

Also, is there any performance benefit from this mod?

You may see a small increase in sound and no performance benefit unless you delete the rear cats, replace the front cats with hi flow ones, and change out the mufflers. Also would need to redo whats left with 2.5" mandrel bent pipe.

Though I didn't try it, I looked into putting shorty headers on the car. After a lot of research and opinions, I determined it wasn't worth it for me. There are probably better ways to spend money to get the sound (tips, cats, mufflers, pipes, long tube headers, etc.).
