Someone confirm for my lazy butt that the factory speakers in the marauder are 5x7's and the sub is an 8"...

My lazy memory does not think 5x7s sound right... Sounds like time for a search.

Per the FAQ:

1. After selecting the speakers of your choice (6"X8" in size in all four corners), get out your tools. Some simple hand tools are all that's required (A nut driver with some bit attachments of 3/16, 9/32, torx bit, flathead and phillips. A star bit socket will be needed for the rear speakers).

Guess I am not lazy enough :)

Logan,
All four cabin speakers are 6X8. You can get 6X9's in the rear without much effort, especially for a mechanical wizard like yourself! The subwoofer is a 6 3/4 inch. Without checking much into it, I found that Kenwood makes a 6 1/2 in sub that will fit in the package tray without any mods, so I chose that one.

Hope this helps, I owe you for your help before!

6x8's in all four corners, plus a 6 1/2" sub. Such a nice car, such crappy speakers. If you want some ideas for speakers that will fit without surgery, talk to the folks at Crutchfield. They always know what fits with cutting the inner door skins. We all found that you will need to cut down the screws holding the door speakers in as they bottom out against the inner door skin with anything but the stock speakers.

Bring a 6 pack of Diet Vanilla Coke and I'll help you at Marauderville.

Logan:

Depending on the brand, some 5x7s and 6x8s use the same size frame, so either will fit...I have the Infinity 5752, which was listed as a 5x7/6x8 (??), but has been superceded by the 6802...according to Crutchfield, both will fit...

and I believe the sub is 6¾"...

Excellent... :)

Thanks folks... Got my Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD / CDX-P1280 / DEQ-P7000 en-route...

Just gotta pick up some speakers, a sub and some screens for the rear headrests to complete the deal...

Doubt I'll get it all engineered up and installed by Ennis, but who knows... I still have a set of Full length headers and a complete custom exhaust system to get done by then... Ugh!!

Runnin' outta time to increase my pimp factor! ;)

I replaced the four w/ Boston. The sub looks like a quality sub and may not need to replaced.

try the 4 first and then see if you need the sub replaced.

Logan, are you going to install the screens in the headrest, or does a shop have to do that? How much of a job is it if you are doing it yourself?

Logan,

May sure you put Dynamat (or equivalent) in the doors and on the parcel shelf. The vibration'll be a pain otherwise!

It also makes it quieter inside!

The doors and parcel shelf? I plan on Dynamatting the whole darned interior!! :) If you gonna do somethin', you might as well do it large it the process!

Dave, yes, I plan on doing it myself, it's not that big a deal, the kits that come with the screens are pretty decent. Maybe I'll do a writeup on it and post up the process.

I hope you do! They always make me feel like I have already done the job so I don't need to anymore ;)

Logan,

If you could please post a write up on the putting the screens in your headrest I would appreciate it. Plan to do the same. Do you know what type of screens you will be getting?
