I want to know how well your color has held up over the years. I am 90% positive I will be painting my K5 the Marauder silver, but I need to know a few things: How well has it held up? Is it safe for a brush wash and how often do you have to wax it to keep it shining?
The reason I ask about the bursh wash is because I will be getting the salt off of this truck in the winter and not every hand wash is open.
So how has it been?

Mine is great but garaged.

Avoid the brush wash. If you need to drive it in the winter I suggest finding a car wash that has the under-body spray and uses lots of pressure.
Not all car washes are created equal. When you find a good one use it once/week in the winter. I don't care if it costs you $8/trip it's still cheaper than new panels and paint.
Depending on what the body shop says (you may not be able to wax it for a while after it's been painted) I'd give it a good coat of cheap silicone wax prior to winter.
I wax my Marauder once/month in the summer and put it away in November so I can't tell you how well it holds up to salt.

Mine has been a DD car with almost 65k miles clocked on since I bought it. Even when my car is dirty it still looks clean as can be lol. I usually give my car a hand wash unless I am in a hurry then it's just a high pressure rinse and will scrub the dirty off later.

Remember, all our cars have clearcoats, what your really taking care of is that, not the different colors. In other words, no matter what color your Marauder is, they all need the same care, because they all have the same clear. Clear is much easier to maintain than straight paint.

My Marauder still looks like new, but it's garaged 99% of the time. My MGM is also Silver Birch, and is a daily driven road warrior. It is still in near perfect shape.
Like someone mentioned, it's the clearcoat that'son the surface. Any minute scratches in the clear on a Black car are much easier to see than the same scratches in the clearcoat of a Silver one.

Bro this is my point exactly. You post everything from your color, size , and consistence of your bowl movements to your "career" in the music business to the "myths" you hear about rocket 88's, the alignment of the universe, your K5 ( not a marauder) , Your personal life and whatever the F else goes on in your cerebrum. USE your pre frontal cortex and edit and restrain your inner monolouge. YOU need to get a life. This is MM.net. Not Dominickslife.net. SO GET ONE.
Dom,
He likes to complain about your threads, but it seems that he reads your every post. What else is going on in your life?:D

Dom, ignore him. The silver birch paint holds up very well, my wife's '03 goes through the automatic car wash all the time and looks good. The paint code is JP.

In actuality the sun is what wrecks a paint color (changes silver to Grey). As for it's durability, multiple coats of clear will be your best protection against wear from salt and/or car washes. Ford does a poor job on paint so it's highly unlikely for you to duplicate that level (or lack of ), craftsmanship. IMHO

Dave, you have a problem with me remember? NOT KEN. I have said it before and I'll say it again. Ken is a good man and I seriously doubt you have met him. You're not making things any better.
Sorry Brian... I hope this problem Dave has with anyone who differs from his view ends soon. Thanks for telling me about your paint.
