I think it looks pretty good. The grills I thought were a little big at first but I think the fit in just fine. If I can find some 03 grills somewhere I'll make em fit. But as for now these work fine. The trick to getting the grills to stay put. Velcro baby... They won't budge at all. Jason is the man! I owe him a car now.

With the infinities all around its eargasms I tell ya. So crisp. I also take a little more time when I install speakers I soilder/shrink wrap everything. I HATE connectors.

Reguarding the intake spacer...

CAKE walk! Except the hot coolant coming out of the little hose (heh my car pee'd on me) I don't understand why Ford keeps freaking doing that!! My Fox was the same way till I bypassed it.

Couple of tricks for the spacer install....

#1. (Jason said this) loosen the 2 bolts that hold the EGR to the intake but do not remove.
#2. When installing just lightly spin each bolt in one at a time. If you have one that dosn't seem to line up take a phillips screw driver thats just smaller than the bolt and put it down and move it around a little bit to help it get centered.
#3. The rear bolt. Make sure you have an 8mm wrench. Take your time.

Both combined too me about 2 hours to finish.

PICS!!

What size speakers did you go with, I've heard 6x9's will fit in the rear deck but not the doors? Did you go with the 3 way speakers? I think I'm gonna go with the infinity's also.

6x8 fits in the back deck

6x8's will fit with 0 modifications.

I did components up front and 2 ways in the rear. I love the infinity 2 ways because they have a switch on the tweeter so you can decide if you want the extra highs or not. I have +3 DB in the back and at 0DB in the front.

I've heard a few people like to get a dremel and do a little opening up for 6x9's.

All MM's have "aluminum colored cylinder heads"! If you mean the cam covers... and no they aren't valve covers, then the '03's came with black painted cam covers and '04 MM's had natural aluminum cam covers.

Why in the world did you put those speaker grills on? It looks horrible, AND it lets thieves know you have changed at least them. If you replaced those.... you probably installed a sub / amp, and perhaps a new radio.

Keep your insurance poilcy paid up, and make sure they are aware of your modifications!

Thanks, That's different.

I must say, I like the finished look of the 2004 better. The 2003 looks like they forgot to put the speakers in, cut the hole, popped the speaker in and covered it with a grille.

I guess it makes changing rear speakers easier though.

The paint created a fume when it got hot that made the car fail EPA.

i would call them valve covers. the cams just happen to be up there as well :P

<sarcasm> I don't think it's a Marauder any more if you change the stock speaker grills. </sarcasm>

Looks great Matt. Nice work! Can't wait to hear what they sound like. I may have to follow your lead and replace my Boston Acoustic speakers with Infinity ones.

Um if your worried about someone stealing a pair of $100 6X8's I think your way off the mark. Its like putting GM wheels on your Marauder so that maybe people wont know its a Marauder and wont steal it...Make sense? Didnt think so.

It might be different where you live but stereo break ins are not a problem, Matt I think you did a awesome job bro. Sorry I wasnt able to make it over for the spacer install.

Yup... I am worried about someone breaking into my car, stealing my stuff, and damaging stuff on their way, costing me time and money along the way.

Less advertising = less business.

It all looks good, and this is what makes this car so fun, every one has there own flare, to make the car distinctively there own, and if this is not your style change it and make it your own.

Vortech347

Everything else is stock, I've only changed the speakers. The sound difference is amazing. Its like listening to something under water then going to a concert.

The stock sub with these speakers isn't that bad either.

I will add this. I have Kenwoods top line Components in my fox body driven on an aftermarket deck thats 50x4 and they don't sound anywhere near as good as the infinities off the factory system in the MM.

I purchased the Kenwoods to try something different last year but I'm slightly disapointed. It just sucks changing them because door panels on fox body stangs are such a pain compared to the massive ease of the MM's. Most likely when I've got a little time I'm gona sell the Kenwoods and get some more infinities.

the 04's look like ford forgot rear speakers all together, so someone cut the rear deck and threw a speaker ON TOP of it, and just screwed them down

All my sound is in my foxbody mustang. Boston 2 ways in the front and rear powered by a alpine 400wx4 old school amp. Need the sound

I've wanted to upgrade my speakers for a while but when I do they will def. have a stock stealth look in the rear.

Please do explain how fixing Fords F up with putting carpet (used to muffle sound) over speakers is a Rice move? If I put neon lights and a fart can on the back I could understand...

I dunno man sorry,

if it was me doing the speaker upgrade I would just leave carpet over,
speakers, looks nice and clean im sure if you got the right set up,
aint no carpet gonna muffle those speakers, use some alpines,
with 4 channel alpine amp no way your gonna hide the sound outa,
those things,

If I keep the rauder I would install
componets in the front Alpine,
replacement's in the rear Alpine,
Along with 4 Channel Amp ^ ,
delet mini crapy sub, Replace with 2 12, alpine's of corse alpine 2 channel
1200 watts should do fine nice ported box you'll be getting the best,
sound out ther like bently or benz, that system will evan sound better,

Dawm im gonna save up for something like that I can imageing how,
it would sound!

OH OH of corse optima battery, and for best sound to push every thing would
be a better deck I realy dig those indash's very nice... a power cap is good,
but I dont think it would be need'ed?

I applaude your bravery, I could not carve up the car for speakers/Grills.
Hence the reason I went with 6X8s'.Still have the fronts to install.
Glad you are happy with the results.

well i wasnt when i got the car...

it has been professionally set up with 6 way components, and wired for 3 amps. the original owner pretty much had Crutchfeild go crazy.

entire car is Dynomatted,
originally was runnning 2 15" Subs
has a 120 amp breaker under the hood.

idk much about stereos to be honest, but when my brothers whho are crazy for sound went through it, they were watering at the mouths.

It definately does NOT muffle sound, my speaker setup is 10X louder than the OEM, and i dont even have the sub in anymore!

For the extra hastle of dismantling half of the rear interior, i think it looks way cleaner. JMHO
