I'm working with a few local shops and retailers to designate some lightweight reproduction items for these cars. I have a few people interested in first run pieces and a few investors willing to throw some small seed money into the prototypes.

Any requests for lightweight reproduced pieces you would like to have? Dream parts?

I have a few pieces that I'm doing for my car that are beyond body panels that are available or easily created. I'm targeting to replace 400-600lbs with drive line and rotating weight pieces, and recreating some aluminum components with the casting company. I don't want to take any integrity out of the car at all, at least for what I'd call moderate street driving...Since I'm having these produced for my project (and possibly one other car) I'm wondering what parts you might like to see done. for your car.

Just hoping for some thoughts and some realistic suggestions from the board.

Along with the peices I'm working to prototype for my car, I'm wondering what other people would like to see done for this car (assuming you own a GM, CV or a Marauder)

Its easier to make 10 of a good thing and to recoop your costs rather than make one.

Agreed. But these cars are nothing more than a sum of their parts...and if a few parts are lighter, now I don't have to push 4400 lbs down the racetrack any longer.

If Ford has made the car 3600 lbs from the factory, this post wouldn't exist (at least from me)

My Wish List:

A fiberglass lift-off front clip.

Fiberglass trunk lid.

Anything to lighten the doors without losing the electric windows or locks.

Let me know when you will have my order ready. Thanks!!

:D

Easy parts are aluminum front and rear bumper and design a pair of lightwieght impact absorbers for the rear bumper.

Although I appreciate your enthusiasm, the common Joe will not be able to afford a limited production run of any component you are thinking of producing.
Should you succeed in your endevour, I applaud you.

My recommendation is buy a supercharger and re-evaluate your mission

Your biggest problem likely will be traction.

Now if you plan on replacing tires at the track and then going back to street tires for the drive home you may have traction or not.

If you want a fast street car you are going to have problems.

If you want a suggestion a carbon fibre wheel and a single lug wheel mount would be great.

If you really want it light replace the glass.
