OK--Its tiime we post up what we are experiencing out there
Here in Charlotte we are starting to get back to normal--that means looking for a station that has gas and get in line under 2 hours--
I was lucky this afternoon- found a line and in 15 minutes got my fill for my
F-150-- 18 + gal @ $71.50==WOW!!!
I had about 2 gal when I got gas--a week since last fill--about 335 miles for my 150----
I guess we are starting to get back to normal--still no 89 nor 93 octane yet--I must have this---where is it-!! for my wifes T-Bird and of course the MM

wtf is the deal with all of the outages?
Don't really-know-except they keep telling us here the "Colinina" line fromTex to here in NC is now flowing---meaning we should be back to normal by begining of up coming week--you would not know that here trying to find gas--lines from 1 to 50 hours long--yes that long--tanker didn't come when the over nighters stayed to get theirs--Cops came by to make sure all were not fighing--Oh well--
You ask WTF--well I do the same--Just glad I am good for another week--
Oh BTW--No PLus or Premium either--no gas for T-Bird or MM--Grrrrrrrrr

I hate to say this but .... :o after paying $4.199-$4.299 for a couple weeks, prices in the $3.70 range look pretty good. :P We are back up close to $4.00 again ... but NO lines here ..... yet.

wtf is the deal with all of the outages?
Colonial pipeline supplies majority of the fuel to the Carolinas, and it received some damage during Ike.
Companies are now relying on truck transport from various supply points elsewhere in the US, hence the spot shortages and price variance.
Still seeing no gas as some stations, or no mid, premium grades at others, but prices are holding under $4.00 per gal.
Terry ran into her first line last night trying to fill up the Hybrid. Told me "people are really rude." Un-huh.
Hopefully we'll get past this soon.

I was out in G-boro and every station had gas, and there were no lines. Not every station had 93 though...

Several places in Durham do not have 93 or 89 grade gas. Most have 87.
My father was going to goto the mountains of NC for the weekend but did not because there was hardly any gas in Burnsville/Asheville. Either there were long lines (5 hours +) or there wasn't any to be had.

I managed to get into the exxon off of i485 and idlewild yesterday and put premium in the balt, I was in line for like 3 mins and out of the station in like 10. I was worried I was gonna have to try and use crappy octane boost and 87 and pray the car would not do something, the way everyone was saying there was no premium for awhile as everyone is focused on the low grades. babying the living crap out of the car now too, to stretch this tank as far as possible. We have a guy in the group working on a low octane tune so if worse comes to worse later or a long ways down the road we can just upload the tune and deal w/ low boost and no fun driving haha.

Atlanta experiencing the same problem. I'm lucky and can work from home. Down to 1/4 tank and nursing it. I'm single and only have the MM as daily driver. Hope I don't have to put 87 in it just to have gas. :help:

Marianne's parents cancelled a trip to visit my brother-in-law down in Asheville this weekend.
He called and said that gas was very hard to find in the area and they might not be able to re-fuel for the trip home to Baltimore.
Of course, getting stuck in beautiful Asheville this time of year is not such a terrible thing.
Damn that sucks being out of 93 hopefully the drought will be over soon. And then you guys can get back to :burn: :drive: :burnout:

Sorry to hear that for you guys. A couple of guys have called me to share their horror stories. There seems to be fuel near major interstate interchanges (I-40 & I-85, I-95 & I-26, etc.) Good luck, There have been times like this before and they have always ended.

Driving from Florida thru Georgia back to Tennessee last night, I tried to keep 93 in it but couldn't. Got up to McDonough and filled up before Atlanta since it's hard to even find regular in ATL, only 1 station had gas and all they had was 87 octane regular. At least I still had some 93 in the tank.
BUT, it was bad enough that I accelerated through traffic at one point and it detonated bad enough to set the Check Engine light. I was trying not to get into boost but got cutoff and it was either accelerate past the guy who was "shadowing" me or slam on the brakes. Should have hit the binders instead. I'm fortunate to have a built engine, or it would have been all over. It ran ok the rest of the way home, but I consider that a warning!
Supercharged guys with stock engines, BE VERY CAREFUL.
