So here is my problem. I just intalled my D1SC and was driving around. I was giving the car part throttle and was under about 8 psi boost. The car just died and the surge valve released. I tried starting again and i could barely get it started then pumped the gas and rich black smoke came out the tailpipes and died again. I have a base P1SC tune in the car. Any ideas?

No worries, Brutha...
You blew a I.C. pipe...
Just trace your pipes, and you'll find one has popped off...It will be AFTER the head unit...
No biggie...just re-attach...and off you go!
Good Luck...

BTW: Just a tip...Always carry a 5/16 socket and ratchet (1/4 drive) in your car for just these reasons...

That's just what i wanted to hear. I was thinking that maybe the plug on my MAFia came loose. An intercooler pipe coming off would probably act the same way? I'm not by my car right now, so i'll investigate later. Thanks again. I couldn't have accomplished this project without MM.net

Were you accelerating or cruzing? What speed if I may ask?
Nothing to do with your problem, local boy solved that, just wanted to
know what 8 lbs of boost equates to in speed. Thanks.

i thought the idea was to get it tuned before any serious dtiving?

I was accelerating but only part throttle. The boost comes on really fast. Once i fix this the car goes in the garage until the dyno tune.
EDIT: It was a tube that blew off. I reattached it and i was off to the garage to let the car sit until the dyno tune! Thanks again Local Boy!!!!

I was accelerating, probably going 45mph. My boost gauge is in the stock center console, so watching the road, the speedo, and boost gauge is kinda tricky. I think it was about 8psi.

The D1SC does come on really quick. You ought to put the boost gauge in an a-pillar pod.

I thought about that after putting in the center console. It's looks really sweet but isn't very functional. I'm sure i'll end up putting it in a pillar pod!
You should stay far away from boost until you get the car dyno tuned
