The time has come to put my truck up for sale. I have no advertised it local YET...offering it to members of two different forums first.

Any serious interest, PM me or reply here, and I'll answer any question.

There's too much info about the truck to type it all out item by item.

http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/stories/slp/slpthunderbolt2003.html

There's an article about the trucks. I'm biased, but i believe mine is the best looking i've seen.

Quick info:

Daily Driven.
Just over 26K miles
Second owner, bought it with 7105 miles April '07
Alignment just done. Front end was inspected and checked out perfect
New brakes and tranny flush will be done this week.
255/55/17 GoodYear EAGLE RS-A's have about 13,000 miles on them. (paid almost $1000 for this about a year ago).

Asking $13500 OBRO. Book value in STOCK form is $11,500. Autotrader has similar trucks selling for around $12-14,000

I need the money to purchase a new vehicle....two prospects. One is on this site.

a few pics, I will gladly take pics of anything. AGAIN, please PM or reply for any specifics.

I've narrowed the search between a supercharged MM (one on this site), or a C5 corvette. I really liked the vette i test drove the other day.

would you be talking about Steves?

I'll wait until the truck is sold to confirm or deny that there is any interest in that particular car.

Very nice truck. But what exactly is Fords problem with not putting V8's into rangers? All these years just sitting back and watch dodge wedge them into the dakotas. They offer them in the explorer so why not the Ranger? Hope all goes well, and i think with a little advertizing this will be a quick sale.

Yes. There are no "hard numbers" because it was a DEALER option, not a model package. I've been told there are LESS than 400 03 black with the 4.0 made, and then add in the options, and it's a one of a kind truck. I've never seen another in person.

I should clarify, this is the 4.0 SOHC model, NOT the horrible 3.0
Gas mileage is pretty decent, I never really watch it, but it's around 21 on the highway.

This has been discussed on ranger forums endlessly. The consensus seems to be, we won't get a true 4 door ranger, because thats what the sport trac is, and same with the v8. It would take the thunder from the Explorer.

While the v8 factor would have been cool with this truck, I enjoy the 4.0 very much. It's decently quick (never run mine, but was tested by C&D as 14.9 in the 1/4), gets decent gas mileage, and is reliable.

So it is known this truck is 99% as delivered. Door tag says "modified by slp..." The only thing I've added are the tires. The lowered suspension i believe is an option, it's all eibach. Coils in the front (with the camber bushings), and drop hangers in the rear. It rides great, especially for being lowered a tad.

absolutely perfect truck guys.... the dealer said they would buy it back from him, that is how much people gawk and love this truck.

BTW it keeps up with a stock marauder on highways.

Beautiful truck. Only available in auto, though, weren't they? And BTW: Do not mock the 3.0. That little Vulcan engine is as tough as nails and with cam, intake and exhaust goes from being a mild mannered econo V-6 to a truly good performing machine. I was getting nearly the same rwhp from mine in the Autocross car as I was with the SOHC 4.0 in the Explorer. Add in the ease of working on it, the mileage and the fact that it just would not break, and you can see why I made it my engine of choice.
That said, I really, really like your truck.

Yes, only Auto's.
I won't go into depth on the reliability of the 3.0, but with a known CPS problem, i wouldn't want one. along with the the power of a 4 cylinder and gas mileage relative to the 4.0, I'm glad i have the larger motor. Maybe it's a different animal in another car, but in the ranger, it leaves something to be desired.

Thanks for the compliments on my truck

Actually, I stand corrected. I've tested one Auto and one Manual. Here are the graphs. Not too bad, really.

Yea, and too bad Dodge FAILED hardcore with the R/T Dak. That 5.9l was the sloppiest thing I've ever driven. Good luck with the sale Aaron. His truck is mint guys, definately the finest SLP I've seen.
