Not sure if this is in the right forum...

I have had my MM for about 4 months now and yea, I love it... i wash it weekly and keep very good care of it... here are my mods...

dual flowmasters 44's (was on car when i purchased it)
DR tune
JLT CAI
rear lower air dam (under the car)

ok the questions -

will 410s make a big difference? (Dennis included a tune for 410s which i will upload)

should I get different MUFFLERS? (i am NOT buying long tubes or any other exhaust mod other than new muffs if i need them) I like the sound it has now, but im not opposed to new mufflers if it will be worth it performance wise - i could care less about a different sound, only performance.

if i get the 410s with the tune, CAI, and new muffs... what kind of time could i roughly expect in the 1320?

Im looking for a ballpark, I'm not looking to estimate track temps, altitude, etc... i am in CA and will run supreme which is 91 (CA sucks)

anything else i can do for performance around $500 (in addition to the above mods, dont say nitrous either! :shake:)

thanks in advance...

btw - my car has 41k miles on it

:banana2:

4.10's rock...

I had 3.73's in my other MM and while they did help they did not pack the punch the 4.10's do.

The mufflers on the car now are the least of the worries. The part that will restrict your exhaust the most are the factory manifolds and H-pipe.

I'm hoping with mine I run around low-mid 15's, but I'm at 7000ft air density.

Steeda underdrive pulleys, Stewart EMP water pump and an intake spacer is just about 5 hundred bucks.

With a tune, CAI, and super 44's I ran 14.99. I've since purchased underdrive pulleys and a water pump. I'll go back to the track this Friday for a couple more runs.

Forget the Muffs...They'll do nothing...only sound change...

Go with the 4:10's...and do a J-Mod (it's cheap...No parts!!!)...Your times will be better with just those mods.

With the $500 limit... only UDP's and water pump will fit that budget...

Try to save up for a T/C...you will launch like a rocket...

Good Luck...

Elavation is the most important part.If you want a low ET,drive to a track with low elavation...imo

I've recently installed 410's and I love it, it's got a better lift off, don't have exact numbers to tell ya about.

The one thing I really like about the 4.10's. Is there's no "dead spot" from the stall of the TQ converter durring the launch then waiting for the powerband. ITs almost seemless. I think 4.30's would be better if you planned on using the car as your toy though... Even 4.56's. For a daily 4.10's are perfect. I actually think if I swap gears again I'll throw in 4.30's.

We have 6500' air most all the time, and a poor track to boot.I ran a 15.8 stock. And a 13.80 s/c'd.If you use the elavation correction calculator it will subtract aprox 0.9 off the et's,which is consitant to what others post.I think everyone should use elavation corrected times to keep a constant comparison

I agree with the 4.30s, They would have given it the extra you need off the line.

Not the fastest NA ride but for amount of mods and which ones I have I make the best out of it.

I HATE THE DEAD SPOT. 3500 stall with 3.55 gears sucks but when I put on my drag radials (255/50-16) I have an effective 3.90 rear gear and no dead spot.

14.19 with 255/55-18 tires (3.50 rear gear)
13.72 with 255/50-16 DRs (3.90 rear gear)

I forget who said mufflers do nothing but change sound, yes that might be true but I have dyno proof of other wise. They really make no difference at low end rpms but mid-upper rpms is where the difference can be seen on a dyno.

Elevation does play the biggest part of all. The track I normally race at sits 20ft above sea level.

Intake
Tune
Remove 2nd set of cats
Any high flow muffler
4.10s
^ Is your best bet to start out with.

No one can say for sure what you'll run because elevation, track temp, track prep, vehicle weight, tire temp, tire psi, etc etc all play factors.

Either way you look at it, run what you have now THEN install 4.10 gears and run again to see the improvement. You'll feel better when you can see how much your decreasing over time.

15.14 (stock spring 2006)
14.99
14.81
14.62
14.41
14.25
14.19
14.09
13.72 (as it sits now spring 2008)

That's my main runs after each 1-2 mods were installed.

Within reason, density altitude, not physical elevation, plays the biggest role. I race at a track that is at 55 feet elevation. The DA varies from a few hundred below to a few thousand above sea level.
