A few weeks ago I pulled and painted my brake calipers hoses still attached. I them pressure blead the system upon completion since I had a mushy pedal. Since then I think my brake pads are making a click noise at times like they are not seated or are moving around. Can some one tell me whats up with my breaks ?

Perhaps the thin metal "slider" the brake pad ends sit on is rusted or otherwise NOT smooth...

This is the part that looks like it's chrome (but not) and clips on the top and bottom end of the caliper mount...

Hi fellow members,
My brakes click clack all the time too. I also would like to know whats up with it. Does it when I apply the brakes and when the brakes are released.
Anybody elses? Any fixes? Would help us unknowing members. Thanks, Tim.

The click niose is not coming from the crome slides nor the pads move back and forth on they were cleaned and greased. The pads mount points were wire brushed. I'am still puzzled.

Somethings loose,my first idea is the stainless anti rattle clips too.

All my rotors and pads were replaced by the Dealer with Motorcraft OEM parts...clicks and clacks when backing out the shop...could it be the center caps in the wheels? I doubt very much it's the brakes. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif

Can you tell if its coming from the front or rear? Did you use your E-brake for some reason? Sometimes due to lack of use the e-brake shoes will come apart causing a clicking sound

+1 on the e-brake being the culprit.

...yet another advantage of being hard of hearing, I can't hear any obnoxious noises. My wife on the other hand can hear every damn thing....

i had a similar clicking noise in the rear. turned out it was the parking brake assembly that detonated. fixed e-brake assembly and no noise now.
