DUW: havin' a wild weekend (october 4th and 5th, 2008)

the cleveland CVN/MMN folks (& stragglers) did a double-whammy this weekend in the greater cleveland area. on saturday, october 4th, we went to canal fulton for a 'cruise for cops' benefit show. on october 5th, we went to the ford casting plant in brookpark for a juvenile diabetes benefit.

october 4th started earlier than i would have liked, with me waking up early to vacuum and spiff the '02. andy (maxknox on CVN) came over shortly after and we headed to radio shack for the best purchase ever: TWO-WAY RADIOS! unfortunately, there is no photographic evidence of these radios, but they made cruising hilarious and may have actually prevented us from being pulled over.

i was really surprised to see the amount of cars at the pre-show meetup point. anyway, we had a pretty fun cruise down to canal fulton, but i didn't take any pictures because i was telling d1ck and fart jokes on the radio the whole way down. so basically, we got there, parked, and saw this ridiculous thing:

oh, i forgot to mention - this show was being hosted by a tuner website so there was a decent number of tuners in addition to the classics and our stupid asses. there was a police-escorted cruise through canal fulton, which ended up being pretty pointless, but here's andy to my left:

i figured that was going to be the end of the night (and it was for parris, duane, and tommy). then we decided to hit up an empty parking lot in willoughby where some cool cars usually show up. unfortunately, we were the only cars (cool or otherwise) to show up...and hey, we got a new person with us all the way on the left!

^^^neat car, but these pictures kinda do it some favors. hope it's not a CVN or MMN member who i'm insulting, but the paint was actually flaking on the hood. at any rate, it wasn't competing or anything.

i've also neglected to mention, until now, that pat (from CVN) showed up late with his '98 (?) cleveland PD car. it was sporting still-tacky black paint, pre-wet sand.
