Does anyone know of a good automatic transmission shift kit?
After Jerry's fined tune in Chicago it seems to shift too soft for my taste!

Lidio and I were talking about that very thing tonight while test driving the car. He wants to do that to my car in the near future and will be putting something together for our trans.

I believe Jerry can modify your tranny too. If I am not mistaken (and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong) he has a mod package/service for our trannys.

You bet, Marty. Why not patronize the man who delivered the 4R70W trans to us in the first place?

"You bet." Texas talk for your right. Just trying to get into the local lingo, eh?

"Eh..." I've been hanging out with Canadians too much, eh?

Those 78th Frazers...What a crew...

I'm sure Jerry can do a shift kit.
Does anybody have good contact info for him?
I've been trying for 2 weeks with no replys.

Try this link on the Thunderbird and Cougar Club of America site:

Jerry's work at its finest...linky-linky (http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/index.html)

His "Ford OD Transmissions 101" should be required reading...

Someone here can certainly educate me on this. If you have chip, which many of us do, and the chip gives better shifting, which it does, what does the shift kit do?

Best info I can give is to go to RF's above post and click on the link and read the trans article.

The main thing the mods do is make the trans itself shift faster and more positive.
The chips tune electronicly what has been built in mechanicly.

Jerry tuned mine in chicago also and I dont think i would want my shifts any firmer, she grabs rubber in 2nd and 3rd at WOT. Any firmer would border on abuse IMO. The beautiful thing is you drive it nice and it shifts nice, you start modifying the internals you will probably lose that.

Don't put no stinking kit in,do the "Jerry Mod" if you want a bullet proof tranny.I talked to him about his mods for Expy when he was at the Dyno Day and he said it still was applicable to my trans and should be too for the Marauders. The man was a Ford transmission engineer, who knows better than him? Nobody! His mods can sustain over 500 RWHP practically forever, just read the whole tech article.

UncleLar,
That is the kind of info I've been looking for.
The "Jerry mod" makes complete sense too me,just make eveything happen FASTER inside the trans.

The info I need is do all the drill specs and locations match the examples at TCCoA?

UnceLar, this seems to be a little confusing to me but we have the following options.
1) We have decided that Jerry's mod would be better than a shift kit. However getting a schedule with Jerry is very difficult
2) Buy a std shift kit and have it installed buy a local shop.
3) Do nothing!

If correct then item #2 is our only option Yes?
