I'm moving to Springfield, Missouri in August of 2009. I only stopped at one gas station while I was out there taking a tour with the rental car and the highest octane they had was 91. However, this was an off brand of gas. Does anyone know if 93 Octane is available in Springfield, MO or do I need to get Lidio to give me 91 octane tune??

BP stations sell 92 octane, No 93 in this area that I'm aware of. Rick

there is a station on battlefield with 93, near kansas expressway. off brand, I'll have to notice the name next time. I usually use QT's 91. I have dennis's tune, and while its better with 93, it runs well enough on QT's 91 that I'm not worried about damage.
it will be nice to see another MM down here.

I guess I'll have to do some other mod to compensate for the lack of 93 octane. :D I've lived in Arizona, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia & Florida ... and this will be the first state that I've lived in where 93 octane isn't plentiful. Is there that much difference between a 93 octane tune and a 91 octane tune?
Nevertheless, we are fired up about moving to Springfield next year. I will be joining the faculty at Missouri State University. My wife and I fell in love with the area.
Is there a quarter mile dragstrip in or around Springfield? I love the fact that car shows are so plentiful in the area.

Can you make it to the All Ford Car Show in Wilmington on 10/25? We need a Silver Birch MM there.
Here is all the info.

I'll see what I can do. Lots of variables, but I'll try to get her ready.

yes there is a dragstrip, marshfield, 20-30 miles east if that. MSU seems nice, I was going to ask...
we have been here three years, it is very nice, the typical person on the street is nice, the cost of living is low compared to typical wages. I live out in the woods, but I'm 15 minutes to starbucks if needed, and 20 minutes to a decent amusement park. I'm liking it here...
the salt in winter thing kinda sucks, but I bought winter beaters to spare my old California iron, and the marauder.

Is there really that much salt in winter?? How long is there salt on the roads? I've never lived north of the Mason Dixon and never in a state where salt was a necessity to fight the ice/snow. I guess I'll have to get a beater for that reason alone. No big, but kind of an inconvenience.

Yes we have 93 octane in Springfield, Mo. Rapid Roberts station on Fremont and Republic Road. ( Exit James River freeway at National go south to republic road then 1 blk east)They truck it in from Oklahoma. It is my understanding that any fuel over 91 octane will not have ethnol in the mix.
With 93 I can get 28 miles to the gallon. With ethnol mix fuels it takes more to get the same power.

Not much winter in Winterville, eh? The good news is Springfield is relatively flat as you've probably noticed. Biggest problem is black ice, and drivers not used to ice or snow. Winters are reasonably mild mostly. I bought snows and steelies, but rarely have need. Now if you drive south towards Branson....you're talking good drainage, land up and down.
You're going to like Springfield. Lots to do, and MSU admired. Good luck in your endeavor.

rapid roberts is a wee bit pricy ($0.90 above regular) but you could smell the difference. I'll see what mileage difference if any.
on the way home, it was a bit different. glad to see it is close to work.
