I'm planning on adding an additional lighter socket for use with an accessory I plan to buy (it's not interior lighting or anything like that). I wanted to install it on the underside of the dash so I can run the wires out of sight instead of across everything and look real tacky d***** across the front of the dash. The idea was to connect the new socket in with the wiring to the socket on the gauge pod by the center console. The problem I'm having, though, is that my test light doesn't want to work properly, so I don't know which wire is hot and which one is ground. I see a black and a dark green. I could assume that the black one is ground fairly safely, but we all know what is said about assumptions. If anyone happens to know which one is which, that would be fantastic. Otherwise I'll just go out and buy a new test light, which I should probably do anyway.

I did the same thing behind mine to power my XM (all tucked in the dash, looks NICE).

I can say with 99.99% certainty (checked alldata to make sure, it's been a while) that the blk is ground ;)

Groovy! That's what I was thinking. I'm still going to replace my test light, but it's good to know ahead of time.

What? :D  :coolman:

You make it sound like "groovy" is some old term from the 60's or something.
