One of the low beam bulbs is out on Barbie's Navigator. It has extended warranty. Without bothering to plow through the 800 pages of crap about the sound system to look it up in the manual, does anyone know how to fix it, and should we take it to the dealer's to get it fixed, warranty or not, considering it's gonna take $5 worth of gas and a half day of our time?

Barbie says thanks, in advance, and awards a hug & smooch for your help. :)

WOW! Ok, thanks, I'll give 'em a call. It's got some free play in the stearing also, and the AM radio has very poor reception. Oh, and one of the wheels has the chrome flaked off, shouldn't that be under warrenty also? It's got 55K on it. Better make an appointment & let 'em have it for a day or three.

Here you go, straight from the Ford factory manual.

Thanks, Larry. BTW, when I checked it, before going to the dealer's, it was working... so I called and cancelled the appointment. ......:banghead:

In any case, I have the PDF tucked away. Thanks again.

Update. The HID bulb is not covered in ESP and Ford replacement cost is $500.

The silly thing is intermittent and never goes out when I'm looking. I'll backtrack the wiring harness and locate the loose connection, if there is one, which seems most likely. I have Larry's PDF tucked away, so looking should be no problem, although finding is another matter altogether. I'm having the steering issue evaluated before going in for service, but in any case, that one's covered. Does anyone know how long, years/miles, the chrome is expected to stay on the wheels? I found the window sticker in the glove box. It was nearly $60,000 .......good lord!

I'm not sure how long the warranty is for the chrome, but I doubt it's covered on an extended contract. A friend of mine owns a small hubcap and wheel store here on Long Island, and he has told me the true chrome plated wheels are crap and starts to peel causing air leaks from the bead area. That's why alot of new Ford wheels have a chrome applique just on the face of the wheels.
