HI All,
With a little luck I'll be taking a (new to me) Marauder back home this weekend. I'll be in Detroit with a buddy on Friday, tomorrow to do the deed. My schedule is somewhat loose after I register the car
I'll travel I 75 to I 280 to I 80 and on to NYC. I should be running CB.
If anybody has any advise or wants to say hi, reply.
PS what's to do in the Detroit area on Friday Night If I stay the night?

What side of town will be staying on?
There's always some kind of cruise going on somewhere in town. Get your buddy to steer you toward Woodward Ave.

Hi Dawson,
I have no Idea about where I'll stay. Just someplace clean & comfy would be nice. If that doesn't work out I could always head back East.
Woodward Ave sounds like a place to start. The car comes with a Detroit city map. Nice guys these Marauder owners.

Jaywish,
Woodward is a great place to start. Everyone hangs out at 13 mile and Woodward in a mall parking lot. Lots and lots of Hot Rods.
If you are interested in driving a Supercharged Marauder, let me know. Lidio is working on one of our this weekend, but I am sure he can take you for a ride.
If you want to stop by our offices and see the Supercharged Kit, let me know, I will give you directions.
Have a great time in Detroit, maybe we will see you on Woodward.

Hey Jerry,
How could I say no ?
I must admit though I'm not a likely SC candidate as I intend to add the FLM extended warranty.
If you want send me a phone # and I'll call when I'm out there.
PS, you will know it's me since it will be the BLACK Marauder.
With no Mods.:D
Thanks
Jay

Jay: You should be OK! I show 615 miles +- for your ride home. About 9 hours again give or take.
Enjoy the car, enjoy the ride..................

Drive around Plymouth Rd and Telegraph - city of Redford and Detroit. There is occasional drag racing on the side streets (mostly east of Telegraph I hear). I haven't been there myself. But, I hear Friday and Saturday nights can be busy.

There is a car show at Southfield and Dix Hwy every Firday. I am trying to get some of the MotorCity MMs there. It is a big turn out. I will be there.

Looks like we've got two choices here:
Either we have a local mini "wish we were in Texas but we're stuck in NY" meet next week when jaywish brings his car home (at Yonkers Raceway Wednesday nite or Thornwood?). We can see if JohnnyB, Vern, Crown Vic and whomever else in the Westchester environs can make it. (Martyo will be in TX).
Or . . . we can wait 'til Martyo and his ride get home from Texas and have a real, honest-to-god, Westchester meet.
Or both.
Any thoughts?
P.S. Congrats to jaywish. (You gotta watch this guy . . . he just loves stealth mercs!) :coolman:

Hi,
Thanks for the words folks.
It really is a very nice car, but the left half is in Utah & the right half is in Detroit. Just sort of kidding.
It really is a Forcury Maraudicepter or is it a Mercord Interauder?
It looks like someone in Canada had a night out on the town before they poped this one off the end of the assembly line.
All kidding aside it truly is a nice car and I'm sure Jim will post the details as they unfold.
I still want to buy it but there are some details to work out. My buddy Bill and I had a nice day in Detroit (all things considered) with Jim who was a great host and I hope we will complete the transaction in the near future.
This one is one for the site. I bet right now we don't have another legitimate occurance of this amonst any of the members or even anyone they know.
It's Jims ride, so now that I have caught your curiousity, I'll let him have the honors of the story.
Jay
O.K. now I'm thoroughly confused:confused:
Jim?
EDIT: Just found the other thread with "the story"...what a mess!

Hi,
sorry for the confusion. You can also see Jim's check your vin post.
The Marauder had the correct set of Fed Vehicle part IDs (VIN #'s)running down the right side of the car but the left side had a completly different vin # on all parts.
We went to the original dealer who called ford & related to us that someone in Dearborn said it was a factory screw up and the correct VIN's were on a Crown Vic Interceptor in Utah.
The dealer wouldn't put it in writing and Ford wouldn't be able to get to it untill Tuesday.
I flew back to NY today.
I did run the "other vin" on Carfax today and it shows as an 03 Crown Vic Interceptor registered as a government car in Utah.
Anyway I guess you all can see the importance of the cars' numbers matching for both legal and collector reasons.
