Hi all, THe MM I just bought didnt come with a owners manual or the code for the door keypad, can anyone point me in the right direction for getting these things? Also my MM has the power adjustable pedals is that a standard MM option or what??

Thanks

Adjustable pedal were standard on the MM. As for getting the door code, you could remove the driver door panel and look at the keyless entry module or have a dealer access it via computer for a fee.

It's also located on the lower portion of the "A" pillar, drivers side.

The stickers came with the owner's manual, some dealers installed them in the traditional spots, some new owners did the same, and some were never installed. Pull the driver's door panel and it is clearly visible on the door control module.

Shoot me a PM, I may be able to help with the owner's manual.

Mine are on the driver's side trunk hinge, inside the left side of the glove box, and inside the driver's door panel.

Mine wasn't posted anywhere when I got it and the stickers didn't come with the car.The dealer looked up the current code number for me with the machine but it's not the original number which means until I pull the door panel and get the original number I can't change the code to the numbers I want and I'm stuck with the previous owners numbers.

the panel comes off effortlessly, there are non-wear clips, typically you can remove it as often as you wish without damage.

I believe there's something wrong. As I understand it, the original code will always work, no matter how many user changes have been made. If the dealer looked it up, perhaps there was a mistake in either the question (incorrect VIN) or the answer. I suggest having him double check. Also, it seems odd that those numbers have been removed from the trunk, etc. unless there was body repair or replacement of the doohickey that reads the door button codes. Does your key fob thingey work? :dunno:

Yes the original code should always work. Even if the DDM (drivers door module) was replaced the scanner will show the code for the new module.
If his keypad has a bad button, that may be his problem??

Both key fobs work fine and the door locks and unlocks fine also with the numbers the dealer was able to access.
Evidently the selling dealer never placed the numbers on the car, they're out of business so I can't contact them.I have the former owner's name but not her location or any contact info for her.
No big deal to pull the panel, one of the mods I have planned for the future is replacing the stock speakers.

Fix your sig, its a 300A not 300 B ;)

It should be on the drivers door once you take the panel off.

BTW, if you have your keys inside the car, dont hit 7/8+9/0 at the same time with all doors locked, cause you will lock yourself out with the keys inside the car

Sorry OffRoadkarter, "Fix your sig, its a 300A not 300 B ;)" Sig is Fixed. In my initial research of the site and my car I thought all MM's where 300As or Bs, at first I didnt know that basicly all 04 are called 300A even though they arent the same as the 03 300As kind of confusing to a newbie. I wish I had the auto brake release, Fuel Door and what not on mine. Oh well, thanks for pointing that out.

There's more, and don't feel badly because you're confused about the differences. Turns out there are some not fish nor fowl in between ones that were "decontented" with some having some of the "A" stuff and some of the "B" stuff and all sorts of various combinations. Basically the 2003 "B" and the 2004 are most alike. Check out the sticky that explains most of it; but try not to understand all of it, as those who claim to know everything about the differences ....may not. :banghead:

sometimes it is located in these places. I had my door panel pulled and have my code. I use it all the time. Nothing is better than the code especially if you lock your keys in the car.

My future Marauder had a couple of white tags with the code on them in the owner's manual. I'd guess the first owner never installed these in the car. It also has a white credit card with the number on it.

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=33333&highlight=owners+manual+link

do a search there are complete instructions.

Remove door skin and read the back panel of the keypad module.
Begin by removing the two 9/32 screws underneath the door skin on the bottom. Just take a look down there, you will see them.
Next, use the flathead and gently pry the cap off behind the door handle. Use a torx bit and remove the screw behind the cap.

Now we have to remove the switch assembly cover that is in the door.
Use your flathead and gently lift up the front of the assembly so you can grab it with your fingers.
Lift the panel up gently from the front and make sure to slide the assembly forward and out.
Be carefull: There is a clip underneath.
Remove the last screw hidden underneath.
Thats all there is to it as far as removing screws. If you removed more than 4 screws, you are wrong!

Now you are ready to remove the door skin (or pull it away anyway). Carefully pull the door skin out and up to get it to come off.
There are hooks on the inside that just lift up and out.
Code is on the back of the module.

Since I forced the Chrysler dealer to get me the code for free from their neighboring Ford dealer before I bought my MM, this is exactly what I do in the rare instance I don't want to carry my keys with me i.e. basketball, biking, swimming, etc. I know it's risky, but if the theif is brazen enough to bust my window in broad daylight in front of other people, then I'll let them take her and buy another with the insurance money.

If you don't know the code you couls try this if you have plenty of time:

So, you know those cars with that keyless entry pad? The one under the driver's side handle? Well, if you look closely you will see that there are really only 5 buttons, labeled "1/2", "3/4", "5/6", "7/8", "9/0". In an effort to avoid a little confusion, I'm going to call those buttons 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, respectively.
A little experimentation will reveal that, if the code is 11357, and you type 5113579, the door will still open! This means that with 7 characters we managed to try out 3 sequences - 51135, 11357, and 13579. After the inital 4 numbers (which sort of primed the pump) every digit tries one new sequence. Since there are 55 length 5 sequences of characters from an alphabet of size 5, we know that we'll need to try 3125 sequences total. With our intuition from above, we would hope that we could find a sequence of size 4 + 3125 (priming the pump, followed by one new sequence every keypress). It turns out that a mathematician named de Bruijn has already done all of the hard work for us on this one, and all of the relevant math can found under the names de Bruijn sequence and de Bruijn graph. But I'm not going to talk about math any further here. Right now, I am going to give you a sequence of minimal length that, when you enter it into a car's numeric keypad, is guaranteed to unlock the doors of said car. It is exactly 3129 keypresses long, which should take you around 20 minutes to go through.

That's cool, but you can reduce it further. I know of no door code that consists of the same character more than twice in a row. So that will eliminate 555, 9999, 22222, etc.
