Wow what a weekend. Great weather, great friends, a full belly, and activities for everyone. It was another very successful CAM gathering with lots of fun activities. Thanks to all who turned out to make this a great event. Fall colors were at their peak. The ride through the Catoctin Mountains was awesome. Did the "Covered Bridge" traditional thing. Bernie and I had a terrific time ..... Now it is time to relax. :2thumbs:

You're right. At 5:45 AM Sunday morning, I heard the unmistakeable roar of a Marauder exhaust leaving the hotel. I jumped out of bed in time to see a Black MM taking off at the green light. Whew .... glad it wasn't the Blue one. About 10 minutes later, I heard it again and popped on some clothes and headed to the lobby to see "who" it was.

All of the MMs staying at the hotel had parked in the back row. However, I noticed one that was out of place. As I listened a little closer I could hear the low roar of an MM idling. So, I decided to walk over a little closer to check it out. Black MM with fully blacked out windows. As I approached the back of the car, I saw the rear license plate read "DOOM". :bows: Jake and his GF had departed the DC area after work around 4 AM and had arrived in time for my morning wake up call.

Jake and I sat in the lobby for awhile as we awaited the arrival of the other MM sleepyheads. He pulled the DOOM-mobile under the canopy to surprise the others. Shades of Louisville ... but it wasn't even raining.

DOOM joined in and attended all of the Sunday activities at Gettysburg. Way to go, Jake !! :banana2:

Bluerauder/Charlie,
Joan and I want to publicly thank you for organizing this wonderful event. We had a great time and look forward to our next outing together with our fellow MMers, including those from NY and NJ who drove 100s of miles to join us for the weekend. Lots of fun.
As we like to say, our MMs are 2 tons of fun! And then some!

Appreciate the thanks; but Mike Poore did all of the groundwork assisted by Haggis/Ladyhawke on the Sunday winery tour and luncheon convoy. Thanks to Ms. Denmark for coming up with the idea in the first place. Sometimes CAM just needs to be pointed in the right direction. Once we are there ... the fun kinda happens naturally.

Surprising how, with nothing in common except a GREAT car, you guys were willing to show up to spend a weekend together. We had members from NYC, and way out on Long Island, way, way Upstate NY, NJ, MD and VA. One who drove out from near Philly just for lunch, and one who drove up from MD early (real early) to join the Sunday activities. And the best part is that not only did you bring your great cars, most brought their GREAT wives/GFs! (or in my case GREAT husband). What a crowd!!! We enjoyed all of you so much.:)

The Breakdown Is As Follows According To Dupont In The March Edition Of Automobile Magazine:

While/pearl White: 19%
Silver: 18%
Black: 16%
Red: 13%
Gray: 12%
Blue: 12%
Others: 10%

Colors are very personal. Although most people agree that the classic muscle car color is red, yellow and black are also popular (though black is impossible to keep clean). Certain makes (such as MOPAR) were known for wild colors that reflected the late '60s and early '70s (with equally wild names like Go Mango and Plum Crazy). And don't forget about the interior color. Unlike today's cars, muscle cars came in a variety of matching or contrasting interior colors, from mainstays like black and red, to green, blue, and even orange.

I am not jealous Charlie. Look at my signature. James Brown said it best "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud". Nothing says Marauder better then Black, except in Bristol Va.

Merc: What you say about black cars is true in many ways, however if other colors were out at the launch then I really think sale would have been much higher. I know I read a story about people in the SouthWest and South holding out for something other then black. I really wish I had waited anther 3 months and got a blue:help:
