View Full Version : Should you modify a Blue?

Should owners of Blue Marauders do modifications, or, as one fellow owner (of a Black one) suggested, might it be significantly more valuable 4-5 years down the road as a bone-stock example of an extremely rare color? Maybe he just wants to stay faster than me!

good question... I'm no expert but, I think that there will be fewer blues than anything else. Since they are not making them in '04. Then again,.. red will only be available 1 year too,..
hmm,.. well,.. someone here will know! :D

Um.... I think you've got it backwards. Just think, if you modify your Blue Marauder it will stand out against the other modified Marauders because it is Blue.
Or maybe I'm just telling myself that because mine is at Lidio's shop waiting for the Trilogy install.. hehe

Just don't modify anything that can't be reversed.
Most of the mods offered here are things that don't really alter the car in a way that cannot be put back to stock condition.

At 62 years of age, I doubt any realization of the "rare antique value" of my Kenny Brown conversion. I just hope that I don't drive too fast and end up in heaven sooner than I wanted!
In fact, I'm not going fast enough and am looking forward to a larger engine like the 5.0, even larger if possible, sometime next year.
One other observation: I am astounded at the number of guys that look at my car when driving slowly in local traffic. I have not seen one woman looking. It's clearly a guy thing.
I once went by three guys unloading a a furniture van as I stopped at a street light. The three guys were falling over themselves trying to get a second long look at my car.
My blue car is an eye stopper!
I have decided to get Lojack for about $1000 that now has a new feature that will notify me when the car is being moved within one hour.

I appreciate all the input from everybody. I dunno...I guess it depends on how much of a real day-to-day difference the various mods make. I know I haven't heard of anybody disappointed with their mods yet. Right now I'm leaning toward leaving it stock, though. That alone may make it rare in the future! But Marauder57 has things in good perspective. These cars are more valuable in that they give their owners pleasure, mods or no mods, than they likely ever will as future collectibles.

I say do what pleases you with the car. You should be enjoying it now, not worrying so much about a future owner. As I said before, do your mods carefully, so that anything can be easily reversed if need be
