Just wondering. Im pretty sure this event will end up to be a BSing and beer drinking themed weekend. So you gotta ask yourself, which is more fun??????

Racing? Well if you call trying to launch the car down a 1/4 mile for the first time ever (not on the street)..."racing"...

yeah...I'm signed up to do that.

As you might expect, I'll be too busy to participate in the racing action, plus, I need the extra time to make sure I get tons of good pics and mpeg's shot....

My wife says I'm not.

But she knows better.

I'm planning on running Friday.I don't think I'll race Sat. because the bracket classes tend to run late into the night if you make it past the second round.
I don't want to mis hangin' with the boys Sat.night.

I'm getting a dynotune Thusday in Dallas. Nothing like running at the track to see the results.

Yeah, me and Todd will be linin' 'em up. Reaction time? What's that mean again?

I will stop by the Friday registration at the hotel. If any of you want to talk to me about any of the race classes, etc., I will be happy to fill you in if you have specific questions.

There are at least 2 classes (True Street and Street Ford) that take no (or very little) driving talent and don't require anything other than a car. Speed and elapsed time are not an issue here. True Street (never opened up for Marauders before) consistists of a 30-mile "cruise" behind the local ploice, and then an approximate 1-hour cool down (can't open your hood), followed by 3 back-to-back runs down the track to create an average elapsed time. Even though there will be another True Street car in the opposit lane, each of you will be running for your own average. At the conclusion, we will give out awards ($100) to the quickest car, and also the quickest 9-second car, 10-second car, 11-second car, 12-second car, 13-second car, 14-second car and the quickest 15-second car. How tough is that?

On Sunday, any True Street car can enter a True Street bracket class (no additional charge) and run in a handicap, dial-in race, for $500 to the winner.

The Street Ford class is a pure dial-in bracket race, held on Saturday and another on Sunday (no additional charge) exclusively for cars with street tires and mufflers.

For some of you this may be the only time you will ever have an opportunity to actually race your MM in front of a big crowd, with all of the magazine press in attendance, at a National Event NHRA track. Be bold.

All I can say is "Cool."

I have made a fool of myself in front of big crowds in the past, so what have I got to lose this time?

Hey Guys,

I am in! I just started drag racing this year and don't know my butt from a hole in the ground, but it has been fun and I have learned a lot. Lidio, Tom and Leonard have been a great help in understaning the strategy of drag racing and it has definiate help me.

I have made some horrible mistakes during this learning process, like:

1. Keeping my foot resting on the brake all the way down the track!

2. Having a very elderly gentleman come up after my run and ask was I napping at the lights, telling me he could have done much better and my reaction time could be measured with a calendar! I felt like kicking his walker out from under him! (just joking)

3. And the obvious question,"Have you ever drag raced before?".

So, I will will be there with both of our cars, one kinda souped up with the S/C, and the other with just the S/C. I look forward to finally meeting all of you and I think its gonna be a great time.

Oh, I just received the T-shirts, they look great! I just mailed Bob Mathis a couple to see in advance.

Have a good weekend everyone!
