I stumbled on this while looking for more marauder info.

If im right this page is from '07

It mentions in detail a release of a marauder concept, and other concepts that looked good and never happened.

This is the part I really like:

"This rear-wheel machine pumps out 530 horsepower and 590 foot-pounds of torque and sits 2 inches lower on 18-inch polished aluminum wheels."

its not the picture that interests me, its that this is/was an idea right off of the ford website, talking about another release of the MM.

I like that front bumper. If they were to have released it, it should have been released along with all of ours, as an even more "special edition" vehicle.

And you did notice that ... "Lincoln-Mercury commands a presence at the 2003 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show."

If only man, if only. We came so close, but it was cut by the pencil pushers.

Indeed, the cars wouldn't feel special, one of the things I love about these cars is that they don't make 'em anymore. There's no yearly rerun. And the prospect of seeing another limited and or failed run of Marauders 20 or 30 years from now when I'm older.

I like the shaved door handles.

Shaved Doors Handels might get you kicked out of Race Tracks / not let you run, due to safety issues.

Ask John Kunh...

With the new 35 mpg rule it will be a long time before a new Marauder comes along, without having a V6 Eco turbo hybrid engine.

We've got the last of the best.

Mercury Division is dead. Pull the plug.

If FMC really wanted a Steve Babcock performance edition of the Panther they could do a Crown Vick like the Blackhawk.

Or, how about a real "Hot Rod Lincoln"? A Benz burning 12 second Town Car?

I have been up close and cozy with that PHP Stalker car.
I have also seen it towed from the track every occation.

In my opinion, it is and was ugly. Not fast, and breaks too often.

Is that car even around any longer?

few years, look at all the other vehicles. The navigator/aviator they picture aren't made in that style anymore.

Yes it is around as I stated in a post above Barry. They also got all the parts changed to heavy duty pieces to take care of the breakage. It has a 9 inch rear end in it.

I really like the last/4th picture, that's how they should've came out of the factory. The Picture above that by PHP, I'm not diggin' the circle outlined headlights, rims, and the grille.

I had the fortune to race the famed Street Stalker Marauder @ MVIII.
Early on it was plagued by breakage at the drag strip.

The run I made, I witnessed it loose steam at the top end of the track, due to breakage.
I still have the time slip, IIRC he coasted to the end on a low twelve second run.
I still remember the tail pipes rocking sideways when he shifted.

The Stalker has run 11.20s. Paul was hard on the car and launched it at 6k plus. Things are going to happen with a car this heavy. It took a lot of engineering to get past all of this. How much do you think the Viper transmission with Pro Cut gears cost?

I saw (and drove) that Aviator at Kenny's, right after it came back from SEMA. I recall it was sold, but that thing was just wicked.
