Way to go. You will like it. There are quite a few modifications that can be done to make it a Mustang eater. A rear spoiler and tinted windows will do the trick. First owner here with a red one. Congrats to you. By the way, welcome to forum.

I'm back.
What a blast.
I've had big cars before. Bouncy. Wallowy. You felt every inch of their size and every ounce of their weight. The MM... planted so firm in every corner, no big time diving under heavy breaking.
My former big cars would take a while to build up some steam and felt like they resented every bit of the effort. The MM *wants* to go fast even more so than the Mustang.
The car can be driven in a civil manner so long as I stay in about the first 1/4 of throttle travel. Most aggressive from 1/4 to 3/4. From 3/4 to WOT it is a rocket ship. The tranny shifts with authority then too. I can't tell you where on the tach it's doing it cause I am not over the rush enough yet to glance at it.
I can see every where except through the B-pillar. This would be a killer 2 door.
The guys at the dealership went crazy! The new sales manager had only been there 5 months and had never seen an MM before. He almost knocked me over screaming "LOOK AT THOSE CHROME EXHAUSTS! LOOK AT THEM WHEELS! MY GAWD! WHAT IS IT!?". So I spent 5 minutes telling them everything about the car from what I learned here.
Turned out one of the sales guys has a Black '03 300A. Had no idea about the site so I filled him in.
Everyone at the office absolutely was floored. I took my crew for a spin and every one of them was spitting mad they didn't have one and they were most impressed.
The front office folks, mind you driving Lexus' and Escalades, were ga-ga over it. That was cool. Not one knew what it was.
Everyone looks at this car. More than once I've seen wide eyes and a few mouthing the words "WTF is it!?"
The Dark Toreador Red color is incredible. In bright sunshine it is a deep red and the metallic flake shines back at you from where the sun is hitting it. In overcast and evening it is the color of blood just as it gets tacky. In the dead of night it's a dark cherry red.
About 8 weeks ago the dealership told me the car would be in the week of September 8th so naturally I called first thing that Monday. They told me the week of the 15th. Sorry.
We had some serious server swap overs planned for the weekend after the 15th so I moved them to the weekend following the 8th figuring I wouldn't have the car.
So go figure, I get the car and I gotta work so I can't make the show. I'd bag, but I got guys coming in who changed weekend plans to work with me and I can bail on them.
I want to get together with the Carolina crew as soon as we all can arrange but I apologize, I can't make the show.
To everybody here and most especially the folks I met right here in Mooresville that Saturday some 10 weeks ago: Thank You! There is no doubt that I would have ended up in the MM but you guys made the deal magic. To know so much going in and to share in the enthusiasm for this machine is great has been, is and will be incredible.
I'm gonna go change my sig now.

Thanks for the pics, Agent, and the commentary. Congrats on your new ride. Someone here mentioned "chrome" trim beneath the doors and I can't see that here. Must not have been a true MM they were looking at, eh?

Agent--be looing and getting ready for a mountain run with us next month around the 11th..keep in touch and we all grinning with you as you drive the "Thriller"..Tom (for the carolina group)

I'll be driving into Charlotte tomorrow... well, Huntersville anyway to show the MM off to the in-laws. My father in-law inherited my '90 Lincoln LSC and my 94' T-Bird so we have similar taste in cars. I know he'll drool over the MM.
Sarge, that little fenced in area is where I park at work. When that spot opened I staked my claim knowing that in the coming weeks I'd be parking the MM there.
The Mustang has a few door dings from shift changes that take place and I share that new spot with a careful and fastidious person. There is actually room from 3 cars but we take up all the space. We can both have our doors open and there is still 2-3 feet of space between us!
Logan, I still feel a little awkward posting in the '03 forum. [hint]
The Carolinas' crew is going have to share with me a good tint person. Perferably someone that can come to me. Would like that to be my first "mod".
I'll be taking a lot more pictures tomorrow. Plenty of interior and exterior shots. I'll post as many as I can here cause I know a lot of you would like to compare to yours. If you have any requests, let me know. This new fangled did-gee-tal film is cheap!
Thanks again guys, this site just adds to the enthusiasm for this ride!

I'll ask my tint guy on Monday whom he can recommend near you there in Mooresville.. Told you--the car just does something to you--doesn't it--it does it to us all--and we still can't get enough--it's like ...well..won't go there,,,but any excuse to take her out is alwayd pending on your mind --right!! Have fun ...Tom

Something for the list for the first trip back to the dealer.

You might want to get that replaced or you'll have rain comming through the windows.
That's an easy trim fix, Agent. A word of advice....if I may.
Depending on your relationship with the dealer you purchased from...I recommend, waiting and drive for a few weeks...you'll notice somethings over the course of time. Make a list (and document by pic like this^^^if you feel necessary) and THEN take it in for everything on your list. Otherwise, you could be making multiple trips, which will waste your time and can be trying on the patience of the dealer.
Although these are great cars...we have all had several little issues that needed to be addressed.

TAF,
Yeah, this looks like a "collectable" complaint to be saved for the next service interval. I may run it up there this week just so they can order what they need so it is ready when I am.

You're going to have little things like that pop up with any new car. As they have said, keep a list and bring them all in.
I hope it isn't there from someone who was trying to get in with a coat hanger or something. I don't think there is an actual seam there on that window moulding

From our understanding(me working for Ford) St. Thomas is scheduled to be open til at least the end of the decade. The CV & GM are scheduled for "major" updates in '08 to carry it through '10. However Ford has been know to be wishy washy at times and can/will change it's mind at the drop of a hat.
