For a while, I've been debating whether I should go a different route performance-wise with the Marauder. A recent valve train noise and a good deal on a forged engine has motivated me to make the change. I will be selling almost everything engine-related out of my current 2004 Mercury Marauder setup. With the performance items (minus the ported intake) listed below, headers, exhaust, and gears, I ran a best ET of 13.5, a best MPH of 101, and a best 60' of 1.8. I want to sell quickly, but the Marauder and Crown Vic communities will have first dibs. All parts (except transmission, transmission pan, Cobra exhaust manifolds, and battery backup siren) are in used condition, no warranties / guarantees can be provided, buyer will be responsible for shipping, and only non-CC paypal can be accepted. With that said, the big ticket items are OBO.

Stock Marauder Torque Converter ( $175 obo )

Original converter in 2004 Mercury Marauder with ~52k miles

*NEW* 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra Exhaust Manifolds ( $150 obo )

Brand new (0 miles)
Retail is over $200 each!

Stock Front Rotors ( $35 obo )

~65k miles

Stock Rear O2 Sensors ( $20 obo )

~55k miles

*NEW* Battery Backup Siren ( $15 )

Never used, Paid $30

[Sold!] *NEW* 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra Tremec T-56 6-Speed Manual Transmission ( $2000 obo )

Brand new (0 miles) and includes full clutch assembly (clutch, pressure plate, fly wheel)
Selling since I decided against doing a manual conversion
Buyer is responsible for local pick-up in Orlando, FL (preferred) or for freight shipping
There is NO core charge for this purchase

[Sold!] 2004 Marauder Long Block ( $1000 obo )

Engine has approximately 77,000 miles on it and was well maintained. For the last 50k miles, it has received:

Mobil 1 oil and a Wix filter every ~2.5k miles
Motorcraft plugs every ~10k miles
Wix fuel filter every ~10k miles
K&N air filter cleaning every ~10k miles
Motorcraft Gold coolant every ~20k miles

Currently, the engine has what appears to be a passenger side head noise

Faint noise began >~10k miles ago
Was advised to leave it alone until it became more pronounced
Current noise is a loud tapping / clanking noise that comes and goes

Sometimes it's loud and can be heard from in the cab
Other times it can't even be heard from the engine bay

A Mustang performance shop and local dealership both decided the noise was likely from the upper engine after listening to it
Another performance shop said they've experienced similar noises, which had been related to the valve train
The exact problem is unknown, but the plugs checked out fine, the oil was changed and nothing unusual was spotted, oil pressure was fine, and there was no noticeable loss in power

Above price will include short block, heads, valve and coil covers, and water pump
Will sell fully dressed for an extra $400, which will include:

Alternator, idlers, tensioners
Coil packs, plugs
Full intake, throttle body, inlet tube w/ MAF
Exhaust manifolds

Buyer is responsible for local pick-up in Orlando, FL (preferred) or for freight shipping
There is NO core charge for this purchase

[Sold!] Ported Upper and Lower Intake with Upgraded Throttle Body ( $600 )

Ported, polished, and port matched (~$1000 in modifications not including the intake itself)
Equivalent PHP ported intake sells for $1200 and requires an additional $1200 core charge
Purchased for me a month ago on e-bay for $600
Powder coated engine silver for $150 and new lower gaskets for $50
$800 spent, and unfortunately it will will not work with my new setup!
Includes TPS, IAC, EGR, PHP Intake Spacer, Twin 62MM BBK throttle body, and gaskets

[Sold!] Precision Industries Stallion 3500 Stall, Single Disc Torque Converter ( $350 )

~1.5 years old, ~25k miles, paid $725 new
Transmission fluid changed every ~10k

[Sold!] K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) with Filter Wrap ( $200 )

~2 years old, paid $300 new
Filter cleaned every ~10k miles using K&N recharge kit

[Sold!] Steeda Underdrive Pulley Kit ( $125 )

~2 years old, paid $200 new
Includes three pulleys (crank, water pump, alternator)

Alternator pulley is not required for Marauder installation

[Sold!] *NEW* Deep Transmission Pan with Drain ( $100 )

Brand new deep transmission pan with cooling fins, drain, and magnetic plug

[Sold!] EMP/Stewart Water Pump ( $80 )

~1 year old, <20k miles, paid $150 new

[Sold!] Rear Engine Cooling Kit ( $70 )

~1 year old, <20k miles, paid $150 new

[Sold!] PHP Intake Spacer ( $60 )

~1 year old, <20k miles, paid $110 new

[Sold!] Goodyear Gatorback Belt ( $10 )

~1 year old, < 20k milles, paid ~$30

Please let me know if you have any questions. I have some pictures and will be posting them soon. For anything else, I can take pictures once the old engine is pulled (should be later this week).

Honestly, I have no idea how to ship overseas and it seems it will be quite expensive (UPS estimates $240, FedEx $160). Sorry.

The spacer increases the intake manifold volume (more air, less restriction). It's worth a few HP on the top end. With the headers, exhaust, spacer, and tune, I picked up about 40 peak HP.

The water pump is about a year old and has less than 20,000 miles on it. Blackened300a has some excellent instructions on installing it here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35360). PM sent!

I updated the list to reflect everything that has been sold. I also have a battery backup siren for sale. If someone cuts your horn or siren wire, the battery backup siren continues wailing and can only be shut off with a key. I bought two of these (one sold, one remaining) a few years back for my previous cars and never got around to installing them. See the first post for price and the below pictures.

What kind of gains would the manifold yield? How hard would the install be?

Installing Cobra manifold is very easy as long as you have the associated X pipe which isn't that hard to get. As for the gains, as consensus goes they would be a little less flowing than headers, but the gain difference isn't enough to warrant me to change from my manifold to headers. A side note: removing an engine is way easier with manifolds in the picture than headers.

Ed's right. The cobra manifolds flow well and many Cobras running the stock manifolds are making in excess of 600 RWHP. Keep in mind, with most exhaust setups, there's going to be some fabrication. If you want the manifolds, I'll cut you a good deal (you could always sell or modify the x-pipe). PM me if interested. :burnout:
