Alright guys what's the best: AP racing, Baer, or Wilwood front brake

I'm going to buy a kit, who's the leader in the poll for best front brakes??

Interested in more high speed highway, road racing application.

Is "group buy" a bad choice of words these days? I would sure look at getting the Wildwood Plus 1, 13" kit, cross drilled if a buy was arranged.....

From my limited knowledge but from reading many customer reports, it seems the Baer has wear issues while I have not read one negative report on the Wildwood's. My preference is the Wildwood's although it seems a lot of cash. My opinion only, for what it is worth.

Baer is 2 piston, similar to your stockers...

Wilwoods are 6 piston...

Your call...

I had a set of Baer on my Marauder when I had it at the Track. They were BAD ASS!!! I made the first turn off EVERY TIME! My Speeds were about 116mph. They were VERY easy to install and they use commonly available Corvette C5 Brake Pads.

Willwoods use specific pads all to themselves.

So that's like comparing a normal person/stocker to a Samoan/6 piston... I think I'll go with the Samoan!

Is the Baer kit something you can piece together yourself? I know a few people that have tons of vette parts just laying around (all their stock parts).

The one that stops you.

I'd go Wilwood.....

The Baer brakes are actually a 4 piston set up at least the ones that were on my KB were 4 piston and they are going on my new Marauder and they do stop excellent never had any wear issues after 25,xxx mile brakes were still good. but all in all its a customer choice I have heard great things about the Wildwoods to.:mad2::mad2:

IMHO... Wilwoods are the way to go. Get them from TCE. Unmatched service and support!

These are mine.

^^^Can't argue with that!

Thanks for the correction (4 piston)...I was thrown off cause it's (pistons) are all on one side...

The Baer's I have / had are 2-Piston and use a 14" Rotor.

:dunno:

A special AL Adapter Bracket was provided in the Kit. It looks like the Caliper is Generic, and the Rotors are specific (Size and Bolt Pattern). I am sure one could be pieced together if someone wanted to invest time time and effort.

I'am definetly checking these tonight you guys got me starting to question myself, there are definetly a larger caliper than those 2-piston you had a link for Killjoy. But as you stated the 2 piston do work awesome!

Just for the 411, Baer says they do not have anything in the works for the 6 piston brake system kit for the 03/04 MM at this time. Their sales people say they have not looked at this market yet, but may do so if enough interest is generated.

I just put on a Baer kit. They are 2 piston alum. floating calipers. They are about the same size as stock. The pads are the same size as stock but aren't interchangeable. The Baer rotors are 14" and stock is 12". You really only gain the larger dia. rotor with the Baer kit, but they do work a lot better then stock. IMO the Wilwoods are a better kit. I went with the Baer kit cause i got it for a steal! Pics at this link
