its been 328 days now, since ive driven my marauder. a long time.
the broken transmission really hampers things. and i dont have the money to fix it. yet.
over the weekend, i fixed my Tank, and the girlfriends jeep. things were going so well, that i actually started on the transmssion removal.
so far:
-h-pipe removed
-tranny draining
-o2 sensors unpluged
-started work on the starter
i think im doing well. hopefully, ill be able to drive it in the spring.
ok. back to work!

ok, update!!!!
i have drained the tranny. here are some pics of the nastiness inside.
on magnet, at about the 10 oclock position, there's a huge chunk of metal.
anywho, starter is removed, both sets of cats are gone, stupid dumb-faced torque converter nuts are off, and the lower panel that covers the flywheel is removed.
problems: i cant break the driveshaft bolts. ive tried the double wrench, mega torque combo and that isnt working.
also, i cant get the 18mm bolt that holds the shift cable off.
any suggestions.
besides those, things are coming along very well.
im thinking of getting a 4r70w from the J-yard and getting a stock TQC jsut for now. and then ill have the stock tranny built up in due time.
rock on,
-ryan

If your going to use a junkyard trans, get one from a 03 or 04 CVPI, this way it will have the extended tailshaft housing, and have a better chance of it lasting longer.

about that brake dust thing. thats only on that wheel. the deal was, the brake pad was totally worn down. So, there was steel on steel action going on. Pretty much, thats a bunch of steel dust. At the time, I had to wait until the jeep was out of the garage before i could bring the Tank in. With it being winter in Buffalo, NY, i had to wait until my garage had a spot open. And my Greased Lightning cleaner was frozen. So cleaning that was not an option. And when we moved in march, all my cleaning stuff was already packed up and ready to go.
So don't punch me in the face!! just my left front tire. :D
143600 right now. next friday, i drive back to NY from CA. that should be entertaining. :banana2:
and yes, it still looks like crap. and i love it.

ok, so i have the transmission for john. ill actually get home some time tomorrow. and then, next weekend, the installation, and registration, then i can drive it!!!! woo-hoo!!!!!
542 days. in a week or two, my marauder drought will be over!!!
Make sure the tranny has fresh fluid in it. Leave nothing to chance at this point.

so, i got the old one out. i used the nozzle attachment on my air hose to bleed out the rest of the old fluid in the tranny cooler line. umm, 90psi through that line.......
that fluid rocketed out the other line. a pure solid stream of ATF. i made a little mess.
now i just need bolts/nuts/spacers for the torque converter to flywheel and it's in!!

Drive from Hampton, VA to Louisville, KY in a never ending downpour. Dom said my rims looked gold plated.

The transmission is in. Everything is hooked up except the cats, the driveshaft, and the transmission shift cable I broke.
If everything goes well, I'll be able to fire it up on friday evening!!:banana2:
I went to the store yesterday and went on a spree. Let me know if there should be anything else i need to buy after having the car sit for over 18 months.
-6 qts of Royal Purple 5W-20
-oil filter
-trans filter
-fuel filter
-injector cleaner
-engine cleaner
-coolant
-Optima Red Top
-2 new rear tires
-too many qts of Royal Purple Synthetic Transmission fluid
Thanks!!

I mean the brake dust that has been on the wheels for like 2 years and will never come off! I hate seeing a freshly washed vehicle with the wheels still covered in brake dust or the baked in brake dust... I get brake dust as well, BUT I CLEAN IT OFF!!!!

Lol, I hear ya. When we got out the car in Louisville, my car was so dirty I busted out laughing it was so bad. It's been dirtier one other time, I took it muddin' at lunch one day with a gal pal. When we got back to work 2 of the Marines we worked with threatened to beat me if I ever "disgraced" it like that again.

at 20:54 EST, the Marauder roared to life. It idled for about 20 minutes with no problems. now, to fix that shift cable, get some tires, and get it on the road!!! :banana2:
That's good to hear, let us kno when it's rollin rollin, I would hate to not be able to drive it for that long.
