You could try befriending someone at a local body shop as they get them for cheap (the mark-up is often multiples of the their cost).

I might. Ran into a guy that refurbishes bumpers, said he had several MMs in stock. PM me; I'll find his phone #.

THe body shop idea is right on. If you go buy for example, an OEM rear bumper cover at a dealer it is almost $600. The body shop that bought my OEM rear cover paid under $250 for it from a Ford dealer

$250 ??? I'll bet that is way below list and maybe even dealer cost. True that most body shops either pay 20% off list or some dealers will sell to body shops at 10% over cost. I'll bet that bumper cover you got was sitting in the dealer parts dept for a long time, and they just wanted to get the "idle inventory" sold.

I would have thought so too until I learned how cheap they can get the parts. Maybe we've just stumbled across the one cheap Marauder part.

Larryo, I have no idea why it was so cheap, but I have a scan of the receipt showing the Ford part # and the price around here somewhere. I think Geico online has it under my account still w/ the claim info. I was very surprised at how inexpensive it was. An aftermarket cover would have been more expensive! I was surprised the body shop did not use an aftermarket cover. When I asked the Geico writer why they automatically used OE, he said "If we got the aftermarket cover it wouldn't have said Marauder on it, right?" I was dumbfounded and tried not to laugh but at least his misunderstanding got me an OE cover. It's a beaut, until it flexes and sags several years down the road like the original did
