Just wondering, if I was going to race my MM, what are the top ten things I need to know to at least give me a chance to beat someone! That scooter on the track ran 15s against the high boosters (It was the funniest thing I have ever seen)!!!

I heard that if you go on green you are too late...go on the last yellow :burnout:

You could try denting the floorboard under the go pedal:2thumbs:

Go around the water box if your running street tires.

Long pants, windows up, a/c off (they don't like condinsation), Leave at last yellow, and don't let off till after traps. And keep your eyes on the track officials and follow their signals.

Come out to the track when everyone is racing, maybe do a ride along. Easiest way is to be shown.

Yea air suspension off turn it off the night prior to coming to race and leave it off till you are finish racing. try to make it to the track with 1/4 of gas helps on weight. once your at the track drop your air pressure to like 22psi help you hook off the line.

Avoid "R" when doing burnouts.

Make sure your O/D is off, when the last yellow lights up, mash the pedal down to the floor.

I run my rear tires at 25psi and I had no problems with hooking up.

All the car preparations, such as tire pressure, OD & TC off, A/C off, good gas, 1/2 to 1/4 tank gas, small burn out to warm tires, careful staging, seat forward, tranny loaded to 1200 RPM, will mean nothing if you don't completely concentrate on the tree.

You MUST leave on the last yellow lite. Not after it's on but anticipate it. That takes a bit of concentration when there's loud engine noise, watching the car next to you, squealing tires from other cars, PA system blaring, etc.

Your mind and body must be tensioned to launch.

All this, by itself, doesn't win races but could put you in the win column in a contest that would otherwise be lost.
(did I say that right?)

The fun part comes after the launch.

James79stang can give you a weath of tips. He's a champion bracket racer with his MM.

Cheers,

If my friend gets his cat-back system in by Friday then we will be at my shop installing it.

Swoosh if you want to do some practicing I will be up at my shop Saturday (in Elkridge, 20 mins from you) if you want to come on up and use my service road to get your launch down.

Fold back mirrors (worth .001 - no lie), inflate front tires to 50#, remove back seats, spare, trunk organizor and radio (yes, worth 10#). Drain your W/S washer fuild. Must use DRs even if NA.

I've seen to many people do it. So I figured its something you should consider. LOL Pretty important too as you want to race the same way your competition is.
