I got an idea over the weekend to try something different. I set this up quick, and got some interesting shots. I just used a glass pie pan filled with water and trickled water into it while taking shots.

I used a single halogen garage lamp and a blue cloth under the pan. I found the cloth helped reflect light back up, allowing for faster shutter speeds.

Two lamps (I have a twin lamp halogen garage lamp but one bulb is burned out), and something more reflective underneat may let me speed things up a bit more and get some better shots. I'm ready to try again - this was kind of luck of the draw the way I did it, and I think I can get some more cool shots.

Anyway...here's some water drop shots:

Yeah I saw that too a few weeks back and it got me thinking, perhaps I could capture those too. This was my first try. :) I like that show btw, too cool seeing stuff in slow-mow!

Very nice contribution!

I saw a photo set recently where the photog dropped strawberries into a mixing bowl filled with water.

The camera was placed in front of the bowl for the under water capture as the berry hit the water.

He too used a blue drop cloth, but did it outside when the sun was high and bright.
