I infer the problem with the cutting out started immediately after the TPS was changed? Then I would start there and see if it's installed correctly or a wire broken off.

The heated O2 sensor(s) may be failing.

I assume there is no CEL on.

It would be nice to know what else is modified on the car, supercharger, CAI, for example. Maybe something taken off to change the TPS was not properly reinstalled or wiring broke or parts damaged.

Did you adjust the TPS voltage to be @ .96 - .99 volts in the closed position?

Colex customs sells them, they are a vendor here on the site.

Not hard, Brutha......

The TPS is rotated to adjust the TPS voltage...

With the engine OFF (NOT running), but the key ON ...

You would probe the grey/white wire (voltage information to the ECM) and the brown /white wire (5 volt signal)...with your volt meter...

You want to shoot for .96 thru .99 volts...on your meter...

Again, just rotate (loosen the hold down bolts), the TPS to achieve the desired range ...

If like mine, you may have to drill out the holes, as to gain more room to rotate, to reach .98 volts...in the closed position...

You can also check, after setting the position (tightening bolts)... by keeping your probe in place, and manually opening the throttle all the way ti'll fully open...Your meter should read between 4.50 thru 4.99 volts...

Basically, your ECM looks for baseline (closed throttle position) upon start up...and sees a value (.98 volts)...

All your sensors operate on a 5 volt signal to your ECM...

When, you go WOT, the TPS sends a 4.75 ( something close) volt reading to the ECM...and your ECM makes adjustments in the fuel and timming curves, as well as other areas to keep you running at optimal effiency!

Hope this helps...

A mechanic did exactly that to my old crown vic with the 4.6 2v, including drilling out the mounting holes for adjusting. Car did not run properly after that. After talking to another mechanic, it turns out that is the proceedure for the old 5.0 l (302ci) engine. On the 4.6 you simply bolt the new one in as it only goes in one way and it aligns itself. This is what I did and the engine ran fine after that.
