Okay from searching I see that the stock amp puts out around 80 watts peak and the stock sub is 6.5". I found a few 6.5"'ers on ebay and figured they are cheap enough to replace the factory sub.
My main question is this...
What is the mounting depth of the factory sub?
Also can that sub box/amp assembly be removed without taking the rear tray out?

Not the awnser to all of your questions but its 3 1/16" from the mounting flange to base of magnet.
Not sure if you have to remove the tray or not it sure does look that way

I took the factory sub out, remounted the factory amp and found a cheap low power handling 12" sub and bought a DIY box from Wal-Mart for $20. I got plenty of thumb now.

Ctrlraven's purchased sub looks great, were there any holes drilled to keep it mounted so it will not move about in the trunk? I think the factory sub is ok but as always, aftermarked works better,
