Need some advice!!

a 194 bulb was out, so I removed the instrument cluster to replace some bulbs. I remvoved a gauge to take a look see. noticed on the backing there appears to be green film glued to sections that you see when looking at gauges with lights on. Now here in lies the a decision! if i remove them , can i glue another color and have that shine through, or is it better to leave well enough alone.... If i do this what kind of film should be used.

If you have these many questions about it... I'd say you should leave it alone.

If you are looking to make what is green on the cluster a differant color I am very interested in this thread, I would love the green to become blue.

Keep us posted.

Actually it's not the cluster. each gauge when removed from the cluster has this film glued to parts of its backing. its not tht iam concerned to much bout the complexity of it. doing this is going to require attention to detail and alot of patience. will toss it around . meanwhile any 1 know the kind of paper tht needs to be used? or is there # 194 leds in which case may be i could remove the film not replace it and use colored leds.

thanks for the help and replies

You can scrape off all the colored transparent film from the gauge face for white backlighting. Note the faces have to be peeled off to do so and the needles re-calibrated.
If you want a different color, once it's sc***** off swap the cluster ILLUMINATION bulbs to a different color (ie Red, Blue, Amber/Orange)
Note the odometer/tripometer lighting will be whatever color the bulbs are.

If you want to keep some items stock green (ie Marauder logo) you should color the back of the sc***** sections and continue using white/clear bulbs for illumination.
This would be easiest done with transparent/candy paint.
