I like the Dunlop 5000 255-18's all seasons. Don't hear the "slapping" on the
pavement when it's cold like I did with the BFG'S ! Using the stock wheels!

Snowed here last night... still gotta drive it. Too cheap and broke to buy snow tires.

Same here, but I might have some cash soon. Maybe I can find some cop car wheels at a junkyard and get some new tires to go with them. If I can do it for $400 I will be very happy.

Around, but not over $1,000.00... wheels from eBay and tires from Tirerack... price includes wheels + shipping, tires +shipping, mounting and balancing at local C&R Tire, and front alignment... they are a very soft tire for gripping so you can't go burning out everywhere with them.... trust me I know!!!!

What did the tires cost and what store did you find them?

I got mine from tirerack.com I think they were $75-90 a piece. I followed suit of the winter combo that Dragcity "Joe" has. I got a lot better traction and "feel" with a 255 on the rear instead of a 225 series.

Looks like no matter what I am spending $500 minimum.
Thanks man!
Also does anyone know if these will work on the 16x7s?

Yes those will work. That is the standard winter combo tire setup for our cars.
Just remember though your going to have a tall skinny snow tire so you have to take it easy since you have a s/c.

Can someone explain the numbers to me? I would like a nice size tire that isn't too skinny, but either way sounds like we have a winner.

215 is the width of the tire tread pattern, 65 is the sidewall height and 16 is the rim diameter.
Mine is a DD and we don't get as much as snow here as you do and I do a lot of dry weather highway driving so I wanted more tire for better traction.
If your driving in a far amount of snow (depth) a skinner tire is actually better because it tends to cut through the snow better compared to a wider tire which will spread out more on top of the snow.

The last three winters (2 in the Marauder, one with the CVPI), I ran 16" CVPI steelies with 215/70-16 front and 225/65-16 (I think) rear Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice. Front to rear difference worked fine with the traction control on the MM. And those went anywhere.
The rears were starting to wear down the middle with a little cupping, so I replaced those with the Blizzak WS-60 in a stock CVPI size of 225/60-16 at all 4 corners. So far my only complaint with these tires are you need to be careful on cold, dry pavement or in the rain as they are a little easy to get loose - especially going around a corner from a stop. But so far in the snow and ice we have had lately they have done just fine. No tire slip unless you go 1/2 throttle or more from a stop on the snow or ice.

16" PI Wheels with center caps and Hankook 401 225/60 front, 225/70 rear. Remember the skinnier the winter tire, the better in the deep stuff
