I'll start with, they were only made them a few years in the 60's, and a full year production in 2003, and a half year of production in 2004, none since.

I will take a shot at it. First off welcome to the site. Look around and have a good time.
The Marauder was only made in 03 and 04.

Welcome Young Gun, I must say you got good taste and sounds like you're ready to roll out! Keep saving that $$$, keep your grades up, maybe your parents will help you out financially. I have never seen our cars sell for that cheap. Marauders came out in 1663-65, 1969-70, and 2003-04, if I'm correct. Hang out, use the search button, watch, read and listen you'll learn a lot, while having a blast.

For about 3-4 grand all you could get is an engine or a shell of a Marauder but not both....or maybe a clone but I doubt that.....Good luck on your search....and dont settle....get the one you want....

And sadly, as long as it takes to save the money, you'll likely never see one at this price point. They will likely depreciate to about 8 to 10 grand before they start to go back up in value again. Just my 2c.

You will definitely be able to find a really beat up MM at that price point a several years into the future. The values are on there way there right now. People that think these cars are going to rocket up in value are nuts, it is not and will not be a collector car. The nicest versions of the Chevy Impala SS are barely worth, now, what the cars sold for new. So at best you make $0.00 if you keep your car almost completely undriven for a bunch of years. But the really ratty ones won't be worth much. You'll probably be able to find real MM's with CV engines in them at some point when the cars are old enough that they have changed hands a bunch of times. Perish the thought!

+1 on the valuation...that makes it 4 cents. ;)

I bought my '03 Marauder 3 months ago for $5800 Canuck bucks. Today, that's a tad over $4500 US. It has some miles on it, nearly 150k, but it's far from really beat up.

Despite the price, I wouldn't recommend a high-power car as your first auto. The power in this car can be overwhelming.

I've been in one or two situations where I thought 'Whoah! Better take it easy, if I can just get it back in line without hitting anything!'.
Though I've been driving for many years, I've just gotten used to the speed and handling of the MM. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't trust a 16 year old, without years of experience, to reign in this beast when things get squirelly.

God, I couldn't get mine "squirely" on the stock tires if I tried. It took the soft, high-walled winter tires before I could get it to go sideways shifting into 2nd. 242rwhp in a 4200# car is not a very high power to weight ratio. Point taken on the age/experience comment though. I got in enough trouble with the Comet/250 I-6 back in the day. Of course, the power to weight ratio in that old rig wasn't too far off a stock MM, either.
