....to a new server.

Thanks you for your patience during this transition. All went smoothly and down time was minimized. Shout is back. More info to come on the Gallery.

The new server will have more memory and significantly faster hard drives. It will be running an updated operating system and have a larger connection to the internet. All these changes should result in performance increases.

To prepare for this moving, the follow has or will happen:
Use of the unsupported email system has been removed.
Shoutbox has been upgraded and archives were purged.
The Photo Gallery will be shut down by Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the latest. The current Gallery is no longer supported by its creators so we've licensed a new Gallery, which we will work on activating after the server move. The prior Gallery still exists and is also unsupported. We will do our best to see what we can save from the Galleries.
The Server upgrade will occur next Friday the 12th at 10 pm CST. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>
The goal is to have all the sites up and running by day break Saturday if not before, then fix minor issues that come up over the weekend. MM.Net will be shut down for the duration of the upgrade.

Now is a good time to clean out your Private Messages. You can easily download your messages onto your computer to archive them. See the bottom of the PM main page.
Please pardon any slowdowns or glitches this week while preparations are made for the Big Move.

I want to take a moment to thank our Server Administrator, Doug Boss, for all his assistance on the back end. He does weekly backups and is there when we need his expertise. I'm very pleased with his skills, knowledge and professionalism. We've signed on for another year of his services.

Thanks for the kind words

My apologies for the slowness today.

To minimize the surprises and the down time Friday. I have started moving some of the smaller sites to the new server so that the users on those sites can help me find the lilttle things that need to be tweaked to make all the features of VB and the galleries work. We couldnt move all the settings since we upgraded the Operating System. Over the next few days there may be a time or 2 that the server slows but on the whole it should speed up as the sites and their traffic move to the new server.

Thanks for your patience

Both galleries and the attchments have been moved offline in preparation for the move to the new server ..

It will come back no worries

This work while it may be a small inconvenience now will save significant down time on Friday

Thanks for all the hard work that goes into an upgrade. This site has saved me hundreds of dollars and made me some lifetime friendships. We appreciate all your efforts to keep it up and running. Best warm Christmas wishes to all the mm.net owners and administrators!

To aid in the transition process and to also limit server load, the ShoutBox has been shut down and will return once we're on the new server. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you want to add something REALLY cool to the site, check out this mod for vBulletin.

http://www.cvmusclecars.com/garage.php

It has time-slips, vehicle modifications, multiple cars per person, voting on cars, and much, much more. Integrates right in too.

$35 plus $20 a year for a single add on ? You have to be kidding. It better make me breakfast for that much money.. Holy cow ... Oh wait - this isnt my site... LOL

it looks like all the times are at 9.999 seconds - is that only SINCE the change ?
I looked at the support thread and there is a 4 year old comment about 9.999 that doesnt apply

If anyone can find a pertinent solution Ill try to apply it - BUT The only thing that would have changed from one server to the next is the version of MySql perhaps ? Im not sure how the migration would have changed how the numbers show up

Doesn't work right for me in any style. Looks like the numbers were flushed from profiles.

It was $35 for the owned license and 1 year of support. I have not had problems with the current version and am happy, as are my users.

Just suggesting, is all.

Cheers!

looks like this here

http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/thumbs/timeslip.jpg (http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/24699)

there is a note in the modification from 2006 that says
The DECIMAL values for fields 52,53 and 55 should be DECIMAL(6,3) NOT DECIMAL(4,3) in the XML Installer File. well the field in the old database was 4,3 and it was created as 4,3 in the new database - changing the parameter didnt fix the issue

This modification hasnt been supported in many years - it will take some time to figure out if this can be fixed - the data in the DB is all 9.999 - it must have been converted during the restore

TooManyFords

As for the timeslips, I edited mine and it still shows up as 9.999. When I had this happen in my old time slips, I remember having to edit the table and change the field from numeric to text, or vice/versa so it would correctly hold the ET when it went below 10 seconds. I suspect something similar is corrupt in the table.

I don't have the old timeslip.php or I would send it to you.
