this guy in the middle of RI has an @$$load of mustangs and classic cars, vans, trucks, even school busses! Rhode island is making him crush all these cars!!!

My friend sent this from full size bronco forums, which got it from a mustang forum. Check this out!

Makes you wonder what other treasures are out there still.

I've been there a bunch of times. I posted on the Mustang board under the user name 2003MercMarauder. I have driven his yard cars around on the property before, when I used to go there in high school (6+ years ago) he would let me and my friend wander around unattended and we would bring a good battery and jump stuff and drive them around in the woods. I've had a lot of fun out there and I'm really sorry to see the state cracking down on the guy

Used to do a lot of junkyard crawls, amazing what you come across.

Back in 1979-1980 say a guy take over 10 acres of classic cars and crush them all. he had alot of valuble stuff there it was a shame. Some of the cars were in decent shape.

This is really sad to see...

...although...I wonder just how many of those hulks could actually be saved. I've been in Rhode Island before; the climate up there isn't exactly conducive to prolonging the life of a car (as opposed to, say, Arizona, which is dry enough to mummify a vehicle and keep in around indefinitely). The frustrating part is that we'll probably never know, because the state's coming down heavy-handed on the guy and making him crush them.

Take this pic for example:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/bkl89/jrs3103.jpg

I see TWO in there I'd like to investigate and try to save--the obvious 'Cuda in the foreground, and what looks like a '69-'70 Cougar in the background (green car). Would dearly love to see the vin and build plates on that 'Cuda---a long-lost #'s matching Hemi car maybe? One can dream...

Good material for street rods here:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/bkl89/DSCF2985.jpg

That second pic...that thing almost looks restorable. Wonder how bad the floors and frame are?

A "tired" '55 or '56 Crown Vic, maybe?

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/bkl89/DSCF8117.jpg

Caddzilla, the sequel:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/bkl89/DSCF7994.jpg

Here's one ya don't see often...the remnants of an old Desoto; would be more grist for the streetrod set:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/bkl89/DSCF7959.jpg

Folks, I'm a big believer in the principle set down by Year One, Inc: Restoring IS recycling. With today's restomod craze, it's a wonder half these cars haven't been snapped up by somebody to turn back into viable transportation.

Cryin' shame...:bigcry:

I've been there plenty of times. It's because RI sucks ass. It's bad enough their drivers suck, but they don't have to go be tyrants. It's on his land, he can do what he wants.

Scrolling around the area there seems to be a few upscale homes. I bet they made complaints.

Yea ok dude. I call 20mph UNDER the speed limit pretty *****ing bad. No blinkers, pulling out in front of you. Us Massachusetts drivers know how to drive, aggressively when we have too. You guys just plain old suck all the time, under any condition. I think the only good thing in RI is Tim Horton's.

It's not like he ambushed them, if they did not know of this when they moved in, it's their or their realtor's fault. I can see making him clean up things that are visible from a public road maybe (the eastern expanse of his "collection" can probably be seen from I-95) but other than that, he should be able to do as he pleases with his land. He's not running a junkyard, or a car lot, he's just collecting in a very strange way. Any harm to the environment is probably minimal.

I will also say though--what would possess this guy to spend time, money, and effort just to drive these cars into the woods to rot? It doesn't sound like he's appreciating them or making any effort to restore or preserve them. He's probably a hoarder; some people keep papers and magazines, others keep old cars... It's a bigger shame he's having to crush them all, but it's also a shame he won't sell them if all he's going to do is let them decay.

There will also be logistical problems in getting some of the cars out to be hauled off, I presume...

Yeah OK ma..hole,
If R.I sucks so bad, stay the hell out. As far as drivers go, we have our fair share of bad one's, but let me reiterate, massachusetts has the worst drivers followed by N.Y. How do you think you guys got the name Ma..holes..
Also dude, if you don't like R.I, stay north we don't like you either.

oh yeah,
Tim Hortons tastes like dishwater. Spend the extra .25$ and get yourself a D&D coffee you cheapskate. If you think Tim Hortons coffee is all R.I has to offer, it goes to show that you don't know sh.t about R.I or coffee.

I've lost count of the times people have subdivided property in an area like that. Build a bunch of nice houses and expect guys like him to clean up after the fact.

I think you are talking about Marauders and not full size Broncos right? Go under Community discussion and you might find your answer or Brain might pop up and you can PM your vin to him and he can tell you exactly what number your car is.

We had a guy across the river from Cincinnati in KY. who had acres of the most desireable MOPARS you ever wanted to see. They were all just sitting out in the field rotting away. If you asked him about selling one or selling parts he always told us he was going to fix them all up. This was back in the late seventies and early eighties. I can't imagine what they would look like now. Actually millions of dollars of cars just rotting away and what the heck for?
