This is info for a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis, wire color might be Pink but the location will be the same at the LCM.

SPEED SENSE
Wire Color: gray/black
pin #5, gray 22 pin plug @ LCM
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is located to the right of the steering column. You can get to the harness of the LCM between the steering column and the LCM Module.

Ctrl as far as I remember, its a grey harness to the right of the steering column? And pin 18, just like in magindat's tutorial. I would have gone out to check but it's like 8* out.

Radio harness or LCM. Forgot the Radio Harness it's what tells the radio's Speed Vol to increase or decrease, I totally forgot about that. I'll have to remember that when I install mine someday.

So the aftermarket DVD / Nav / CD / MP3's have a speed sense just like the OEM? Thats one of the reasons I've been holding off on getting one.

some do some don't. The navi units use it for when u go thru tunnels and lose gps the speed sense knows you are still driving. The cd players use it to turn the volume up the faster you drive. But even some players have gyro's that do the same
