:help: 2003 300 B 83000 miles has been a great car love it to death check engine light comes on a freeway speed and light starts to flash not good :bigcry: I limp it home and notice at stop lights have a real rough idle again not good get home dont even bother to read codes I noticed a slight ticking noise from passenger side valve cover so I removed and the coil cover and found all kinds of rubber insulator debris everywhere and that number 3 cly on the right side the coil was higher than the rest removed it and found it completely wasted :mad2:then removed the plug and it was hammered upon further inspection I have no threads for the plug there gone so time for a timecert fro the plug did it replaced the one bad coil and replaced all the plugs drove it seems find except got on it once and check engine light came back on and flashed then when off Im going to get the the code pulled but my main question is how are the clyinders numbered is cly 1 on the left or right side and what is the fireing order thanks Paul alias NATACOP

It sounds like the plug pulled out of the threads, the resulting compression drove the plug into the coil and broke it (usually a flashing CEL) indicates a misfiring or non operative coil. If you installed a helicoil or other repair adapter and its running fine, then give the car some time to read the correction or simply reset the computer.. Your post was a little rough so I had to think this thru. You may want to check all of your other plugs and coils as well.

Dude: I had the same thing happen to me. :mad2: it was the number 1??? on the passenger side. Mine threw no codes or a cel light however, but boy did it run rough, I just limped it home, loaded it up on the trailer and took it to 'Engine Express in Tyler Texas, They had it fixed in one day. By the way how did you pull your valve cover off, A). loosen and remove the cowl, or B). loosen the motor mounts and drop the motor a few inches.
Hope thinigs work out ok.
