At approximately 5:30 PM Thursday , 18 , yes 18 Mercury Marauders from 8 states pulled into the Quality Inn hotel in Ennis. After rondesvousing (sp ????) 20 miles north of Ennis, the "cruise" drove single file into Ennis---what a sight--we got some unbelievable video. Everyone arrived safely with a couple mechanicals, but everyone is safely tucked in ther beds by now. Had bbq at "Bubba's" and a bull session afterwards. Just got home--get up time 6 AM for a "Krispy Kream" donut run to Ennis for breakfast. MartyO and MM03MOK got on the last plane out of New York and LML arrived about the same time.I picked them up, Marty picked up his car and we met the inbound group within 15 minutes of an estimate made 3 days ago. Have some pictures, but just too tired to process now. All in all a great day, Nitey nite, Maury

The Big Dog team got LOTS of looks on the way to Ennis. There were 6 Marauders that left out of Dover, Virginia Wednesday morning headed for Shreveport, Louisiana to meet up with another 10 Marauders.
Cruztaker & I both had CB's along with our FR radios. Some of the comments from the truckers were, what the hell are all those black cars, must be some test police cars, are they the FBI, the CIA, the President is in town..secret service and on and on. Of course when you have 6 black cars runing in formation in the hammer lane at 80 to 95 mph, you are noticed. After we hooked up with the Shreveport crew one of the comments was it must be a funeral procession. I guess the Marauder can be all things to everybody. I logged 2,055 FUN miles in 3 days getting here.
Time to wash the grime and dead bugs off

Okie dokie, let's try this again... Lost my dial-up connection on TAF's computer, so I lost my post I had going here. I've got this thread stuck and we'll use it for text updates. I'll be starting another thread tonight that will be stuck as well for any pics I can get ahold of. Feel free to post on both.

Today: I got a late start, 9:15am I woke up. Long night with TAF and MartyO "playing." Found everyone washing their cars in the Waffle House lot. Those boys can wheel some deals now... So, after the clean-up, we all kinda broke up to take care of personal needs and met back to head to the track at around noon. Got to the track and bot what a site! 20 MM's out by our tent including a local performance shops MM displaing a NOS fogger system. The ony times I know about are TAF's 14.6 (started with a 15.7 :sleepy: and worked down to a 14.7, then his final #), MartyO's 14.2 (which he got on his FIRST RUN!), and Jim's NOS run of 14.2. Afterwards we all just got together to shoot the crap. Logan arrived not too long after the test and tune was over with. Most everyone missed him earlier as most were cleaning up their cars from thursday night's rain. Around 6pm we all started piling into the QI's parking lot. At that time I counted over 25 cars, and more rolled in when I left the lot to help out with the goodie bag distribution. We'll see how many we get around the tent tomorrow! Everyone got to meet the brains of this operation, shake hands, get free stuff and eat good pizza. The Trilogy car was here around 5pm and was being passed around to all, each one to come back with a huge grine on their face! :D As for tonight, everyone's pretty much off on their own. I think me and the boys and the bunny are gunna go catch something to eat here. So, that's about it from MMville, TX, USA! See ya'll later!

Yeah...and your g/f says you're too fast, too!

Yes...he beat me folks in our head-to-head run at the end of the day today (14.2 vs. 14.6). Was it the badges?

One thing's for sure.... it WAS fun!!!

I'm back home after an amazing day in Ennis...

What a completely cool event! Hanging out with some great people and their awesome cars was the most fun I've had in a long time.

That Trilogy car sounded like an F-16 minus the afterburner! (hey, that's an idea.... hmmm) I got to speak to and see the faces of quite a few of you guys.

Went to dinner with the Trilogy gang and had most interesting drive around Eastern Dallas and parts of Mississippi and Oklahoma, too- I think. ;>) Thanks, Jerry for the experience and fun.

Gotta get on the road and get to the track. Gonna get my EEC reprogrammed by Dennis and I can't wait! Let's see... next- plugs/stat/pipes/4.10's/... I'm gonna go broke with this addiction.

It's very gratifying knowing that the talent of the members of this group will ensure a source of information and hardware that will make this unique car a legacy (perhaps forgotten.. nah!) in the history of automobiles and Ford/LM products.

Sun's coming up- gotta hit the road and get back to Marauderville!

Kevin

Just got in from Ennis. All I can say is WOW!
What a great experience. My wife and I had a great time.

Although I missed out on Sunday's events, Friday evening and Saturday where really something. Many great people, lots of fellowship, and an overwhelming feeling of belonging to something much larger than we all thought. Seeing all those Marauders, and their owners, in one place was a surreal experience.

I again want to thank all the sponsors. From Reinhart to Trilogy to Ford/LM to Steve Babcock and to all the others. Way too many to name them all, but without these sponsors....this event wouldn't have been possible.

Also, a very special thanks to Logan, Bob and his wife (whom I will continue to keep in my prayers), Mary, and all the others who worked VERY hard to make all this happen. I felt bad for each of them. They really didn't get to sit back and enjoy the festivities like the rest of us. They were too busy working. We will never forget your hard work and are eternally grateful.

I believe the final tally for MMs was 63 plus a few Crown Vics. That was awesome! I took TONS of pictures. Way too many to post, but I hope to compile a CD to send to Logan. Hopefully he will use a few and post them soon...after he sleeps for about a week!

Thanks all, for the updates and photos. Life doesn't always give you the chance to enjoy every wonderful opportunity that comes by (like this event) but it was nice to be able to experience a little piece of it through the great reports. Wish I could have been there...

Man, I'm so tired tonight, it's takin' everything I got just to catch up!! Sorry for the lack of updates from me personally, but like Alan said, I was runnin' around like a chicken with my head cut off....

It was an AWESOME EVENT and although I was busy, I had an absolute BLAST meeting everyone and just blindly giving away thousands of dollars of stuff is strangely rewarding... ;)

They were EVERYWHERE!!!!! Thousands!!! Those in the pic jumped into that box overnight. The box was under our tent. If you left anything on the ground, they'd find their way into it.

Hey, those aren't roaches in #245, they're crickets. The Ennis event just happened to coincide with our yearly infestation! :)

Dave: Go to www.photomagic-digital.com

Plan on spending time perusing the photos; there are literally thousands of them although they are sorted by the day.

Others on the site may want to take a look too.
