31 spline Setup

Well you all know now I broke a axle at the track yesterday so im already putting the wheels in motion to do my upgrade in two months. Im looking for the part numbers for the moser axles. I see Greg at F.I.T did a group buy a while back and got moser to make a cuctom axle for the MM with 31spline with everything needed for our cars. is this item now reproduced bu moser or still a special order? Reason I ask because i was going to just buy them from Summit Racing. If not then I will have to go direct thru Moser. Any one with the info I need please respond to this thread for me and others who will be upgrading real soon.

Contact Moser, as Rich said they just made a set for TAF a few weeks ago. I set mine to TAF and he had the new set sent to me.

Basically I'm looking just on a group buy for the moser axles. Merc sent me a link on eBay where you can get the Detroit truetrac for $399.00 and $15 for shipping. Don't know if you can find better on that.

Ford sell the 31 axles with tone ring for about 253.00. I have them on my car for over a year. Ford axles are a little more plug and play.

Ford axles are just fine. BTW, I had a set of Moser 31 spline axles made more than three years ago. It's not a big deal. I am now going with Mark Williams 35 spline thanks to SSHS8.

You should be just fine with the Ford axles. It all depends on the HP you are at.

Just purchase the Crown Vic PI version.

Ok let me see what I can find. I can get deep discounts on ford oem parts. CVPI AXLES 31 spline I will let u guys know what I find and price wise.

2005 and up panther (all models, PI included) are 31 spline.

Prior to that only the Limo Town Cars had 31 spline axles.

If you order axles from a 2003-2004 CVPI you will get the same 28 spline axles you have now. So, just order them for a 2006 model.


Also remember you'll need a 31 spline differential.
